Miller would be UFA this summer I believe as well as Andersson and Tootoo will be buried in GR cause of Holland, though I'd love him on that 3rd line with Abs and Helm with Jurco in the top 6. Callahan is either on the Wings next year or is an FA with apparently no option to return to GR. Same goes for Sheahan I believe. And personally, I see more value in those 2 than Miller and Andersson. Edit: Scrap that....thought they were UFA at the end of the year. Miller signed for 3 and Andersson for 2. So to answer your last question about where they'd be? Maybe GR cause we have better players to fill their roster spots.

I was reading on MLive yesterday that Helm and Dats were trying to be back for the game tonight and that Franzen hopefully won't be far behind. Not sure what's up, but I sorta expected at least Helm or Dats back. If Tatar plays tonight, if fully expect another highlight reel goal from him....just for his old man. I can't imagine how he must feel right now.

USA is bringing homer picks in Orpik and Martin instead of Johnson and Bogosian. Canada is bringing Kunitz, Nash and Subban to keep the bench warm instead of Couture, St. Louis and Seabrook. Sweden is bringing Tallinder instead of Hedman or Brodin. I'm wondering which team has "braintrust". Either way, Bobby Ryan was completely blasted by Burke and was very smart about everything he said. Jack Johnson is a whiny tool. While he's a good player, there's still guys that the USA team could put that are better than him.

Franzen having trouble processing information
Z Winged Dangler replied to Son of a Wing's topic in General
Yeah I ragged on Franzen pretty hard for the first batch of games this year, but he was phenomenal before he went down again. He was 2008 playoffs Franzen for the 20 game stretch you're referring to, which helped us win a decent chunk during that time. No matter how hard Mule tries playing right now, you can't be as effective on the ice if something like vertigo flares up and it always sits in the back of your head. I had a concussion a few years back and when I came back to play a couple weeks later, I pushed it pretty hard and almost blacked out and was effectively hungover for the next 2 days. I had to miss the CF Regional Hockey Championship cause of the same thing Franzen is dealing with. It's not fun and I really feel for the guy. -
I was talking with darkmanx whilst playing NHL 14 last night which generally turns into what we think the Wings should do and we both love the prospect of a 4th line next year of Sheahan-Glendening-Callahan. Put that under a 3rd line of Abs-Helm-Jurco and you have yourself a pretty nasty bottom 6. Something the Wings have been lacking for about 4 years now.

I loathe Danny Cleary more than 99% of the people on this site. However, if Cowen gets zero games for doing the exact same thing to Dats, then Cleary should get the exact same treatment. Though a 20 game suspension wouldn't break my heart.

I personally think that Tallinder is getting old and slow and his spot should have gone to Hedman who has become a top tier Dman in this league. Gold - Sweden Silver - Canada Bronze - USA over Russia As long as the stars align and those are the medal games.

I actually watch a ridiculous amount of hockey with all players involved and followed the majority since they were in Jr. Nash is not good 2 way and is slower than Lucic and isn't as physical and has been kinda junk since going to the Rangers. I'd take Richards or Ladd over him for pure grit, compete level and momentum stealing and creating.

I agree with that. Seabrook and Keith have 2 Stanley Cups on a line together and Seabrook won WJ gold with half that team too. Canada also has no real shutdown line. Bergeron can't do it all himself and Toews will be in a scoring role with Sharp. I would have had a 4th line behind that 3rd line you have of Lucic-Getzlaf-Perry of Ladd-Bergeron-Richards. Have fun against that line. Couture should have been named to the team as well over guys like Marleau, Kunitz, Carter and Nash. Carter and Nash won't do well on the big ice, Kunitz is useless if Crosby gets injured and shouldn't be on an Olympic 1st line regardless and Marleau is getting old and should hand the reigns over to Couture, a younger player that will also do much better on the big ice with his speed, just like Duchene. Canada will have to win running 3 lines and sitting the guys that can't keep up. I agree with that. Cause he put up points on a Canadian team that was dreadful offensively and he was quite good with the puck. Good crisp passes and he has a nose for the net. I didn't see the all stars for the tournament, but I hope Drouin didn't end up as one. He tried to be a hero even though when he actually did dish it off to Mantha and Hudon, that's when the offense was created and the best scoring chances and goals happened.
-
That's exactly why I didn't offer a great package in exchange. Nothing. Taylor Hall has good offensive skills, but he's horrible defensively and is a real d-bag.

Like Danny DeKeyser in his first game as a Wing.
-
Marchenko and Smith finish the game as the D pair on the ice. I like.
-
Z is a huge beast! Tatar stepped up, Nyquist stepped up, Marchenko was solid and didn't look out of place, Jimmy's playing like last year Jimmy, Cleary got his 7th point and Miller and Andersson got goals in the same game. You do if you ever watch highlights on TSN. Raptors.....barf. What a game by the band-aid roster tonight.
