5.5 is a little steep, but Grabovski has a LOT of pure scoring talent and has some good moves he can use in full flight. He's not terrible 2-ways, but not the strongest on D. Undecided on this one, but we don't want to play Flip 5.5 and he's good 2-ways, while Grabo is better offensively, in my opinion anyways. With Bozak looking to sign on for 8 years, Bolland as the 2nd C and drafting Gauthier who could be up in a couple years and Grabovski's 5.5 per cap hit, they may just NEED to move him to clear space. And maybe Horton too. They're gonna be very good very soon and they did really well in the 1st round of the draft with their 3 picks. Look for them to make the playoffs next year or the year after.

Depth is like, so overrated. Chicago had more depth, more quality prospects and they didn't trade their prospects for failed experiments. Saad, Shaw, Bickell and Crawford may have helped.

Tuzzi's good if he's healthy. If his back issues continue, expect him to be on LTIR basically most of the year if not all of it. Sammy is playing games and I don't think it's gonna endear him to Wings brass. He won't wear the Winged Wheel next season. Illitch will turn him to pepperoni for hot n' ready's. I have a feeling Eaves may get moved so he can play more somewhere. He's a good 3rd line guy who is good on the PK. I wouldn't even be surprised to see Tootoo go somewhere. The Jets would be a good fit for him.

Then why re-sign Cleary? There goes Tatar's spot, and $3 mil? That has to be a typo. That's absurd for a guy on the decline who has been injured for 3 years. I'm ok with not getting Lecavalier, Horton, Clarkson, even Weiss or Ryder, but I do not want Cleary taking up a kids roster spot that provides more offence, spark and can grind out an 82 game schedule. Sometimes it's just time to move on.

Commentary for Cleary: Cleary skates down the left boards, trips over centre ice line, collects himself and continues down the boards. He hits the blue line with mediocre speed and gets the puck as close as he can to his favorite shooting are, top of the circle, puck literally touching the boards, and he sends a wrister to the net......bread basket! We never saw that coming!

Yeah, I'm not understanding that logic. A guy that's been hurt for 3 years, let's sign him to $3mil per when he's a bottom 6 player who played in the top 6 due to injuries. I won't be getting gamecenter next year if Cleary re-signs and takes Tatar's spot yet again. He's old news.

How many teams in the league are having bad cap and depth issues cause their GM opens their wallet too frequently like a kid in a candy store trying to get one of everything? Half of them at least. I don't like seeing the good UFA's go elsewhere constantly, but I'd rather be the only one with money left when someone really good comes along and no one else has money to sign them. I want to see guys like Jurco, Frk, Tvrdon, Pulkkinen and Jarnkrok on the Wings in a year or 2, not a declining has been. And they are the one's getting lots of money from lots of teams that will have lots of cap problems when they can't re-sign their young players cause they have too many old ones. Maybe Kenny has a master plan and that's why he wants to dish out 2-3 year max contracts. The new CBA doesn't have the same old loopholes it used to, and new rules have superseded old rules of the 35+ variety and what not, so not dishing out a 5 year deal to Vinny is ok by me, and not wanting a one-time 30 goal guy for 7 years at $6mil is also fine by me. Sign Weiss and Ryder short term and you have a good top 9 set up and we have solid D and great goaltending. A full season for DeKeyser and Smith will work wonders as well. Wings will push for the Conference finals again next year. My prediction is a little more realistic. Flip would go to the KHL for tax free hookers like Huds before he's a Wing next year at the money he wants.

I'm gonna throw a prediction out there in the universe. Wings sign Weiss and Ryder. Buyout Colo and Sammy. Trade Eaves and Tootoo. Re-sign Brunner, Nyquist, Andersson and Smith. Jagr buys a rocking chair for his porch, realizes it's really comfy and just stays there.
