I live in Winnipeg...we've been turning the tv on for playoffs for quite a few years now But regardless, i will sit my ass on the couch and cheer for the wings as i do every year hoping for 5 cups in 12 years. That's worth more to me than having the Jets!

Ozzy should have a custom made mask like the one he has with some sort of kick ass design on it...cuz the mask he wears now makes him look like he is on a team of 7-8 year olds! That wizard of oz mask design sounded pretty cool.

whoever wants to play 60 ******* minutes of hockey!!! 8 goals against twice and then a brudal collapse against the flames last night for another 6 goals...whilst getting only 2 shots on goal in the 3rd...WTF. thank god hossa's back next game. the wings were playing great with helm and leino, and they got sent down to the minors and everything went to s***, along with hossa going down. the only bright spot lately is that ericsson is playing really good.

the wings aren't as hungry as they were last year... they need helm and leino back up as well, but it seems due to cap issues we'll have to wait for playoffs to start to see them back

i wouldn't be worried about the wings playing the oilers. i didn't think they would make the playoffs let alone beat the wings... with hossa back any game now from injury and helm and leino back up for playoffs i think the wings are still the favorite to defend "their cup!" btw...nash is only one person! mason's a great goalie, but detroit with those 3 players back, as well as having holmstrom back now are too much for the lower seeds. 1st round, any opponent, wings in 5.

if he's playing both pp/pk, obviously babs likes the kid and he's gonna find himself a roster spot next season. don't be surprised if meech and lebda are not wings come training camp. keep in mind kindl's game has been good this year as well. he may be called on in a year or 2 as well...

Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Hossa - Franzen - Leino Hudler - Fillpula - Samuelsson Helm - Draper - Cleary Lidstrom - Kronwall Rafalski - Stuart Lilja - Ericsson Conklin balance the attack on 1-3 and drop the hammer on the other teams d with 4, same with the d-pairings. conklin's earned the #1 spot in goal. maltby, kopecky, lebda and meech come in as reinforcements if needed. all capable. leino can play on any of the top 3, so he can be put anywhere, i just like him on a line with hossa.

detroit gets: bouwmeester (4.875 mil) florida gets: kronwall (3 mil) fillpula (3 mil) as long as bouwmeester signs with the wings long term right away, otherwise no deal! makes some cap space available to help sign everyone else...huds, franzen, hossa, leino, helm... and then maltby can retire after this season.

if you play more than a certain amount of games in a season for the nhl team, your salary goes towards the cap. the wings dont want to send them down, they have to or they'll end up with cap penalty bulls*** as far as i know. i don't know exactly how many games count, but i think it's between 9-12. if anyone knows the logistics of this please let us know.

first thing the nhl should do is make the max player salary lower! then drop ticket prices and all the s*** that goes with it, concession, etc. especially with the economy in the U.S. right now. i live in Canada and hear about the f***ed up economy in the states everyday, so that tells you something. so and i'm with you on the nhl doing something about scalpers, but it starts with them making teams lower ticket prices. the max salary cap in the nhl should be 5-6 million. you don't need more than that to live...comfortably. lastly, move the coyotes back to Winnipeg where they belong.

i like fillpula, and he's a really solid 2-way player, but if the wings want to let him go somewhere to make cap space to resign hossa, franzen and huds, i'm all for it. i don't wanna see any of those 3 in anything but a winged wheel next year. leino and helm should have spots on the team next year by the sounds of things, so flip may be expendable. dissapointing if we lose him, but in the long run it may not be that big of a deal. sammy wouldn't fetch too much...he excelled as a wing cause he was given a role and he played it. his payment was a stanley cup...he won't ask for too much in the off season. keep him for the 3rd or 4th line, need depth. the only guys holland may be shopping other than flip are meech and lebda. kopecky is 4th line energy and hossa bait. with larsson playing really good and the arrival of mccollum in the next year or so, howard may be good trade bait. but in the grand scheme of things, at the end of the day, it's all gotta fit in the ******* CAP! so good luck to kenny and we'll wait and have fun speculating for 2 more days.

i agree with you opie and i don't even want flip to leave...but lots of people on this site think he's quite expendable. that being said, i would let sammy, kopecky and lebda go, and have malts and cheli retire after this year and replace those guys with leino, helm, abdelkader, ericsson and kindl/pyett. there's some money saved... sign huds and franzen as well as the obvious zetterberg while retaining flip. you got a young team that's fast as hell, and possibly some cap space leftover. and the wings don't have to let more of thir prospects go like mr. quincey... as for goaltending, bring up either howard or larsson. with the other forwards up in the nhl it would give mcgrath and emmerton extra duties on grand rapids and finish developing them for the nhl. we've seen enough of the wings good prospects go in the past few years for floaters like lang and bertuzzi. matthias and fleishmann are both capable players...

the only reason i would be ok with letting filppula go is that it would make more than enough cap room to bring up helm and leino...which when cuts were made prior to the season starting babs said they were the 2 best players he's ever sent to the minors. what would filppula haul in for a trade though??

bettman's daughter is no doubt already avery's sloppy seconds...so she knows full well what they are. bettman should hang himself and let someone competent run the league.

With the Wings being a team better known for building through strong drafting, what do the lets go wings faithfuls think the wings are gonna need in this years off-season? There's enough speculation about signing free agents and salary cap. I'd like to know what is needed in the entry draft....and if the wings at this point in time have a first round pick?? Fire away.
