Nice, you didn't see us dragging around a penguin after we won...

How sad are you at the moment?

I couldn't stop crying. I cried at the restaurant I watched the game at, I cried twice when I got home, took a shower to calm down, cried 2 more times after that. The hardest part was being so close to a repeat and losing it. I wanted them to win it for guys who wouldn't be back, like Cheli, Kopy, and probably Conks, Sammy, and Hudler. Plus I felt SO bad for the whole Hossa thing. Even if he didn't play well he's a sweet guy and it broke my heart to see him embarrassed like that. That was the one thing I was praying wouldn't happen But I'm better now. Still not OK, just better than before.

1955 posts for game 7 STANLEY CUP WIN!

I think the title of Theory of A Deadman's song "Not meant to be" was talking about Pittsburgh winning the Cup. I'm sorry, but we're winning the Cup, and there's nothing anyone can do about it!!

The Hoss is the boss and will prove to have made the right choice. They won't let him be embarrassed like that. GO WINGS!!!!!!

    Clutch Player predictions

You know that's weird it's on the 12th. For whatever reason, for the past week, I've had June 12th as the day they win the Cup burned into my brain. Maybe it's a sign JK. Anyway. I'm saying Homer will show up with the first goal, then Pavel will do some hurt, and Hoss The Boss will finally get his 2 goal game, one of which being the winner. Ozzie will let in 2 max.

1955 posts for game 7 STANLEY CUP WIN!

A new game has begun, a game for Stanley, and all will know that 19 Red Wings gave their last breath to defend it. (yeah I edited the original quote from 300) Do it for Hossa, boys. :siren: :siren:

Don't wear it! My brother's Datsyuk jersey is cursed too. At this point we need all the good luck there is. Last night I thought it'd be OK to wear my wing earings rather than my lucky ones because they went better with my outfit...bad idea.

    Anyone want a laugh?

That was so funny!! I do that all the time, I'll change the words to country songs so they fit with the Wings and the playoffs...just without the F bombs.

Words that need to be banned from Hockey Vocabulary

Meshing-as in "deflected into the meshing" It's either netting, or mesh. Not meshing. Meshing is the action of combining netting and mesh.

    Hossa Mojo for game 6

The Hoss is the boss. I want that man to get a hat trick already, someone has to. It'd be nice if Nick gave it to him 1st. Who else would he give it to?

    Class and Hockey.

Am I the only one who could understand what he was saying with the whole "that guy/our guy" thing.? I mostly agree that fans will call their team gritty and the other team classless for doing the same thing. However, you can have both grit and class, i.e. Draper and Cleary.
  13. Friend of mine made these, thought they fit well.

    Roenick

Babs probably didn't hear what Roenick was saying because he had his Stanley Cup ring pluggin' his ear.

    Sammy is clutch

Yeah, scoring the 1st two goals in Game 1 of the Cup Finals last year was so fluky. What a worthless waste of human tissue he is.
  16. Not really sure where to put this, but since Doggy had a topic about meeting Wings after the game I thought it'd be ok. If it belongs in the Water Cooler hopefully it can be moved there. Ok, this is gonna be long so get comfy if you're gonna read it. It was probably the 2nd best day of my life 1st one being the RW practice last year. SO. You'll NEVER guess who did chapel at my school yesterday. I'll give you a hint his name starts with David and ends with Booth!!!!!! So. I go into chapel and I sit in the bleachers(we have chapel in the gym) and of course,my class sits at the very top. I see this young guy standing by the podium, and while our principle is giving announcements I'm like "Hmm that guy stands with his hands on his hips like Lidstrom...he stands like a hockey player. He looks so familiar, but I don't know where I've seen him." Then a teacher introduces the guest pastor and he's like and David Booth too. I'm like "Wait WHAT!!??1" So the pastor started off telling David's stats and such, and telling the people who didn't know(which I already did) that he went to school here. He asked him some questions about the ups and downs of hockey. He said the travel wasn't very fun. Then he asked what role his family had on his life and he said he was grateful for all the sacrifices he made for him and such. Then the pastor said we know you're very open about your faith, what effect has that had on your career? David quoted the Bible verse that says "You're(God) works are wonderful. I know that full well." And he just said that no matter what happened in the games it was God at work and he knew that God had a plan for it. Then he quoted the verse that said "Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." He said it's hard to be motivated sometimes and he was like sometimes you don't want to do your homework or do what your parents ask, but if whatever we do, we do it for God, it wouldn't seem as overwhelming because your doing it to glorify God. He only went here for a year before going to a Division 1 school so he could get noticed for hockey. Obviously it was a public school and he said one of the last papers he had to write was about your hero. He wrote it about Jesus, he didn't really detail it, but it seemed like it caused a stir in class discussion. It was cute, the pastor knew David because he was the pastor at his grade school and he was like "I know one thing you failed at. Do you know what it is?" David was like "...uh spelling?" He said that David was really bad at the trombone. David laughed it off and named some other kid who was worse than him, so I thought that was cute. He was really smart, very down to earth, and he was such a sweetheart. After chapel some of the kids went to get his autograph, and of course there's fricking puck bunnies. I'm like "Guys, do you even know who he is?" they're like "No, but he's hot." I went up to him, shook his hand, basically implying I wasn't a puck bunny because they don't shake hands, and congratulated him on a great season. As he was signing a piece of paper for me, I'm like "Thank you for scoring a hat trick against the ducks." he's like "Why is that", I said, "Because I really don't like them." He thought it was funny. I wasn't gonna get a picture with him because I'm too shy, but my friends like no get in there, so she shoved me next to him. I was fine when I was talking to him, but when I had to take the picture with him I was shaking so bad, and I'm naturally slightly shaky as it is, so I was shaking like a leaf. The pic is still on my friends phone, but when she sends it to me I'll put it up if you guys want to see it. Or if this thread get bumped down to page 2 before I have the chance to post it, I'll just put it on the hottest wing thread. All I can say is I'm glad I decided to straighten my hair, put on some make up, and generally not look that ugly yesterday. Oh and I did really well in my track meet. I set personal bests in all my events, so I think David needs to do chapel on meet days more often. BTW two things, 1. This is not a religious debate thread, just telling you what happened at school. 2. I didn't directly quote him because a) I don't remember half the stuff word for word, and b) it's my interpretation of what he said and I didn't want to give his words one meaning when he could have meant something else. The end. Thanks for taking the time to read this. P.S. This might be the first time in LGW history that I started a topic and didn't epic fail at it. ... we'll see.
  17. Watson is the new O'hallaran. They must have both graduated with majors in reffing from the Blind Officials Academy.

Randy Carlyle's view of the hit

I just saw that! What a ******, even if it was a clean hit he still could have said something like "It's too bad he was hurt like that." but he didn't 'cause he's an a$$ and knew it was dirty.

    Injury Update: Lilja and Draper

Not only is that a good pairing, but that is one BA name. You got the Euro Twins and the defensive machine of Big Rig and Pain Train. Great to see that Lils is at least doing some things on ice. I'd be nice if he could come back for the Final, but it's unlikely. I really love that beardly playoff beard of his. (see my sig.)

    long break

9 pre-season + 82 regular season + 4 post season = 95. Yeah, over 90 games. They won't be tired. We've said the same thing last year before the Dallas series.
  21. wingnut40

    Cleary!

I think he played fine last season until his broken jaw and that was most likely the reason for his playoff performance. In this years regular season he wasn't really scoring, but he was working hard every shift, and you're right, with his work ethic he can go out there in every situation. To me, he's synonymous with hard work. Nice to see him scoring again, he's pretty clutch.
  22. wingnut40

What is the Status of Draper and Lilja

I would. The man scored the only Wings' goal in the game, but nevermind that, the bad far out weighs the good. If he wasn't playing the Neidermayer goal IIRC would have put the Ducks up 1-0 and Wings would have lost anyway. With him playing that game he gives it away and Selanne gets the GW. Either way, Wings lose. Well aren't you a bundle of sunshine? I love the Pain Train, but I'd rather him not play so he can heal 100%. Ericsson's play has filled the gap, but when Lils comes back I'd like to see Lebda sit and Lilja paired with Ericsson. Poor little thing, sitting and watching your team play without you must be torture.
  23. OMG NO WAY!111!!!!!1 :rotflmao: Dude, that's sick, holy crap Gohan Franzen! Thanks so much very nice job. You too Thunderpriest.
  24. Funny story, my mom asked how many goals he scored last year I'm like "Over 9000". Wouldn't that be funny if someone could PS that? I tired, but it was really bad!

    Ladies alternative to playoff beard

I got mine done, but I don't have a pic yet. It's a simple red braid with 4 white crystals for each goal and a charm that says focus. I found even better charms than last year!! They say "focus, strength, discipline, passion, imagine, and integrity." Oh and girls I bet I have hairier arms than you, I'm half Italiana, so don't feel bad.
