I know alot of folks are going to come on this topic and say. Why the hell would you split up the best line in the NHL? Thats dumb to split up something that works so good and so on. But personally i think they should be split. Leave them on the PP, But when it comes down to scoring line 1 and 2, they need to be split to add more depth. Our 2nd line gets about as much production as our 3rd line does. and its quite sickening. My suggestion would be. Sammy-Datz-Homer Zette-Flipper-Franz Cleary-Draper-Maltby Hudler-Kopecky-Drake 1-2 Lines Now become a waterd down version of the ZDH line, but with time comes chemistry and with chemistry comes more scoring. and its better in the long run. Have Flipper and Hudler alternating 2nd/4th Line throughout game, until someone establishes that they are truely better then the other. I'd Keep the PP1 The same. Because when its those 5 agaisnt 4. the puck is usualy going in. the 2nd, id like to see Rex/Flip/Franzen and Lebda/Sammy for the D. that wuld be solid. Players re-act to there surroundings. Sammy is shoot happy on the 2nd line with rex and flip, because he believes he is the man on that line. If he is surrounded by Dats and Homer, i think he will be more valuable. because he wont take weak angled shots and will rely on others more then what he did. Just my Thoughts on splitting them up. Instead of saying just No. Dont do it, I'd like a real responce with some intellegant thought process. on why or why not you want the ZDH Line split. Keep it clean please.

I think getting Lang was a good decision. that 1st round selection, ended up being trash anyway. so mer no biggy. and last thing we need is another Tomas.

To me its obvious the wings are not sold on Howard, So we really should Start giving Howard some playing time, to develop some type of value for trading.. Samuelson stats tell you he is a top 6 foward. and Franzen is a 3rd line grinder at best imo. Howard/Samuelson/Franzen/Kronnwall. = 5.1m For Lecavalier/5th,7th Rounder = 6.7m So all in all you have yourself a true top 6 forward. to pair up with Rex and Flip. You Relieve yourself of a selfish player. a goalie you wont see in a winged wheel for another 2 years.. and grinder... and a potential top 4 defencemen for the future.. Who gets the best of this deal? Tampa. Our Losses Are- Sammy - Selfish Top 6 Forward. Franzen - A Streaky Grinder. Kronwall - Potential Top 4 Defencemen. But We Got Many Others To Replace Him. Howard - We Are Detroit, We Buy Our Goalies. Not Groom Them. Tampa's Loss- A Solid Scorer, But Recieve Alot Of Depth To Overall Revive There Team. 2 Late Round Selections.

I like the Pippen/Jordan anology, Both complimented eachother perfectly, and Homer is like Rodman, who does all the dirty work. Personally i could see Rex/Flipper/Franzen working out great. Because none are overly selfish. Am i the only person who thinks without Sammuelson we would be a better team? cuz i whole heartedly do. I'd package Sammy/Lilja and try to get a Jackman of the Blues type defencemen.

Good Point. On the ZDH. Its not like they'd always be split up, They'd still get there PP time together, and thats usualy a good chunk of time. Main reason i'd like the switch, its because Hudz and Flipper wont/cant meet full potential while on a line with Sammy. He's selfish. The rafalski switch wouldnt be a bad thing he's really been under performing last couple games. but i'd keep Chelios and Lebda together because they work well.. and i love how you forgot Lilja. makes a smile on my face.

I think Hossa will stay a thrashed the rest of the year. Atlanta will want to much for this rental player. And wont suck up there pride and take whatever they can get from a player who wont stay. Hossa will just post up great numbers for the thrashers, then leave for FA. and get mondo cash.

Umm, Why not just turn on FSN Detroit and watch the game there? Sure it wasnt on for the Blues/Wings game, but most the time it is. Or are you to close to detroit and you get blackoutted?

Ill be pumped if the following happens. Sammy dosnt play. Lilja dosnt play. 4th Line becomes Drake,Kopecky,Downey. So basically, I wont be pumped up for the wings, I'll be pumped up for Michigan/Ohio State on saturday, And wings will be 2nd on my list for the day.

Split up ZDH, Give guys like Hudz and Flipper more of a chance to suceed. Hudler-Datz-Homer Zette-Flipper-Franzen Cleary-Draper-Maltby Drake-Kopecky-Downey Split the ZDH Crew up, have 2 balanced scoring lines instead of 1 good and 1 not so good. Bench sammy next game if he isnt taking it off anyway. 3rd line is a solid defensivly and gritty line and 4th line Drake nad Downey will crunch knuckles.. and Kopecky will follow there lead. Hudler needs PT, he has splashes of brilliance, and has the determination to get better. You can see the obvious improvment from last year to this. And puttin him on a line with another struggling youngster *flipper* and a selfish player in *Sammy* your not helping his development. gah. i hate sammy.

i missed the game, cuz i had to plan a funeral with my brother. from the sounds of it, we just got straight up outplayed. which stinks, hopefully babs realize's that we need more then aggritators. we need more guys like drake and downey who aint scared to mix things up. From what i read, Dom didnt play bad, it was more the defence who did bad. as much as i dont like dom, from what i read it wasnt all his fault with the goals let in. I read someone earlier on this topic, that the ZDH actually got split up? or did that not happen? gah i hate not being able to watch the games, not to mention there isnt a replay on tonight, cuz it was on versus and not FSN. anyway, good night yall.

by no means, did i mean that he warranted the pp2 rotation spot. but i seriously think, he needs some playing time to show his real worth. and that is not a crash and banger.. thats not his game. he's doing it to keep his spot on the roster.. he knows he is an offensive player not a CnB'r why let him turn out to be the next Kurt Maltby when he has the potential to be the next Dustin Penner? Thats like saying man this hamburg is raw, and not cooking it. and just going to throw it away. btw, what better playrs are you talking about only ones left are Franzen,Draper,Maltby,Drake. Franzen would be better then cleary.. i wouldnt risk puttin draper infront of the next.. Maltby maybe.. Drake.. never.. Franzen.Kopecky can do it. both are big and can block the goalies view, alot more then Cleary.. Cleary plays with such heart and grittyness.. the last think you need is a puck/defencment/goalies hacking at him all game. Put franzen/kopecky people who get less PT, take the abuse. not to mention cleary aint that good at it anyway

Hossa/Sundin = Mondo money, and would ask for to much money which would = no zetterberg. Realisticly. Its going to have to be Pav's and Henrik. for now on out, unless there isa player we can snag for the relative same price as we got bertuzzi. which is doubtful we got Bert so cheap cuz of injuries and his track record. and we still didnt get any production. Personally the only trade id want done is Kronner and Lilja. both have value, its just limited. for some teams they would be top 4's. for a derek morris type player. doubt they would do it straight up. but if they did i would be syked..

koko, fought for 1 reason. he knew he could win. big ole koko versus sharp? common gimme a break. Kopecky is just like rex, good offensive skill but just cant get it clicking at all cylinders right yet. Kopecky has a good chance of not ever getting it clicking, because he dosnt have the PT to do so. he gets 5 minutes to impress, its much easier to just CnB. then try and make something happen with trash linemates. Rex on hte other hand gets good PT and PP PT so he has more OPP to get his offence clicking. If i was detroit i would make a huge attempt to get Kopecky going. he has huge upside believe it or not. Personaly i would like Z and Dats split up, they are doing great now sure. but when it comes to play off time, you need more then 1 line contributing. Flipper/Datz/Homer - Waterd down version of ZDH Rex/Zette/Sammy - Waterd down version of ZDH Cleary/Drapes/Malts - Same Ole Drake/Kopecky/Franzen - Crash And Bang crew on PP Z/Datz/Homer/Lids/Raf Rex/Flipper/Kopecky/Lebda/Sammy Its a sort of addition my subtraction type deal.. You subtract a amazing line to make 2 great lines. far fetched? yes.. will it happen? no.. but i like it. GIVE KOPECKY PT TO ME THE PLAYER HE CAN BE.. A SOLID PF@@@

Meech, Good young defencemen, no glaring strength or weakness, just a solid Dman who will make limited mistakes. Erricksson, Great young talent, who can play both Center and Defence. Great offencive ability 2Draft pickss, Great way to continue to build your team for future. -- Sundin, Great player good leader. aging vet who has yet to win the cup. The youth movement sent from detroit could extend the leafs chances for cup longer then without the trade.
