I like downey just as much as alot of people. but when it comes down to Drake and Downey... Has downey ever been a captain? has downey ever scored 20 goals in a season? has downey ever had a 40 point season? Answer's are no and its that way for a reason. Drake offers more then just Fighting and Crashing and Banging. he has skill unlike downey. Liability/Downey - maybe that was bad wording, but he is sure not on the same level as Drake with or without a cage.

Thanks for the laugh. Take out 2 players who are going to be part of your future, and have all the assets needed to be good players in the NHL. But your going to sit them because Ellis apple picks goals.. and Downey "fights".. Downey is a liability.. Ellis is worthless... Kopo/Rex play solid D for the most part.. allways chompin at the bit.. and Have been proven scorers threwout there career. Sooo. Franzen is now demoted to the 4th line? or is this just to get his feet wet again.

Meech did great. Better then any game Kronner/Lebda have been in this year. I think he just proved his worth, hopefully he can get a few more games under his belt to prove he is solid enough on a constant basis so we can lean on him the length of the season to contribute when called upon. or contribute enough, where he draws in some looks from teams who are lacking in the defensive department. and we can package him for a top 6 forward . Downey/Kopo/Drake line would be naise. Didnt Kopecky get into a fight with brad may in the ahl and put the hut on him pretty good and the annoucer kept saying "get him brad may. get him brad may" anyway. I think if Kopo started seeing Downey and Drake knockin some heads Kopecky has the backup to start being a physical force. IDK. but id love that.

Dont think so, cuz they put Drake on IR? right? and they free'd up the spot for Igor. I think thats what happend i could be tottaly wrong though. Anyway, id like Ellis outta the line-up. Other then his lucky goal's that a newborn infant could of scored. He plays soft. Id much rather have him OUT, because no part of his game is very good.. Downey on the other hand is a GOOD Crash and banger, and i think if he put some effort into it, he could be a below average offensive threat just like Ellis.. Ill take Drake over those 2 anyday though, Drake has been a captain has leadership skills, he hasnt done much point whise in his limited role so far. but looking at his career you know he has what it takes. compared to ellis and downey who have never been much of anything.. ever.
