I'm not really sure if there is a definite number that someone keeps track of.. but it definitely seems like it happens a lot to the Wings, especially when Homer is involved.. In reality the number of disallowed goals is probably pretty similar, which I don't have any problem with.. the only part that gets to me is the reputation calls on a guy like Homer, especially one like tonight.. you have guys score goals while players are literally on top of the goalie in some cases and those count but Holstrom's ass is in the crease so its preventing the goalie from making a save..

Just a not eabout the OP, Nashtown has 82 points not 71.. Just sayyyin. Haha. Anyways, I have finally started to feel a bit better watching Wings games and it seems to me that they are starting to get back to finding a way to win even when they arent playing at 110%.. let's just hope they keep it going for a change.

Well.. at least the Wings can't use the tired excuse.. considering they only played for all of about 5 minutes last night. I feel like all season I have been hoping to see a full 60 minute game.. maybe tonight?

Is it just me or are the Red Wings the worst team of all time while on the 5 on 3? Seems like they never score.. almost like they have too much space and talent and just end up not doing anything.. Seriously a 1:40 5 on 3 against the worst penalty killing team in the league minus all of their best players.. that has to be an automatic goal.. I am glad they finally won a game at home, but if they played in the first peiod like they did for the last couple minutes of this game then the game would have been over after the first.. but by the time the Wings actually got their act together it was once again time for another average goalie to put in his bid for the Vezina.. Hopefully they can come into the next game and pick up where they left off.. and when Raf is back I fully expect to see Ericsson in the press box.. every damn time he touched the puck it led to an Edmonton chance.. its almost like he thinks he is so much better than he really is.. on offense he takes the puck, carries it into traffic and loses it everytime.. on defense he tries to get cute with it, gets caught and then gives it away. Franzen seems to show one moment per game where he looks pissed off and fired up in front of the net.. then he disappears and you dont see him again.. I wouldnt mind seeing Modano up on the top 2 lines tbh.. he seems like he has got some jump since he came back, might as well see if he has any offense left in him.

Its a win/win for us all really.. Not only did the Wings win.. but I made a promise to god that if the Wings came back and won we would sacrifice Ericsson.

If they base the Vezina voting at the end of the year on Red Wings games alone they are going to have a tough call between practically every average goalie the Wings have played all year..

I think you guys saw the wrong replay.. the no-goal wasn't because Bertuzzi used his glove.. they clearly called Holmstrom for being too close to the crease.

An AHL team lines up at the blue line and the Wings can't get anything at all going.. Maybe they should watch some high school hockey footage so they can learn some new techniques..

I think the wings are just trying to see how badly they can actually play and still have babs say he thought they played an okay game.

They have to start caring eventually... right??

I can't say that I am surprised. Despite the fact that so many people can't stand the guy whenever you hear owners and gms (for the most part) talk about him they always seem to approve.. whats 5 more years anyways?

I cant see him returining this year.. even though if they start making a run in the playoffs he might feel a lot more pressure to get back in.. but I can't believe retirement is even an option.. if Lilja could eventually come back then I'm sure Crosby can.. it will just take enough time to make sure its safe.

Headliner on TSN's NHL page is about this and trying to get a police investigation amongst other things.. which I find just stupid. Some people may not agree with Mike Murphy or Colin Campbell, but like it or not these guys make their living making these kinds of decisions. Anyone at all who is watching that hit from a non-habs fan perspective is going to be able to see why there wasnt a suspension, even if it was borederline. In fact, last night I showed my brother (who rarely watches any hockey at all) the hit and told him Chara wouldn't be suspended and his response was "of course not, its not Chara's fault that the rink is designed that way." The thought of Air Canada pulling out makes me think they are run but a bunch of pissed off Habs fans or they were looking for an excuse to pull out anyways.
