Plus he's a shootout specialist.

Well we did find someone who liked those same abilities of Leino.
-
Maybe the 10 teams wanted to see if May was worth claiming.
-
I dont know for sure.. but I believe a players injury status does not have any effect on if they can be traded or not..
-
Well this whole trade deadline thing went from a high to a low in a hurry. If it is Kronwall then getting Lilja back is definitely not going to make up for that. But if it was Kronwall going on LTI then why would May have to be waived aswell?
-
That seems to be the way things have gone with most of the trades lately.
-
I completely agree.. I think another top 6 forward is exactly what this team needs. But on the other hand I dont see any way to add a top 6 forward while clearing up over a million dollars in space at the same time.
-
One trade down.

I really wanna see this team in a playoff spot before the break so they can work on building from there after the break. But it could be tough. Hopefully the wins against the Sharks keep coming, gotta gain some momentum since this could be the 1st round series. My Prediction: Wings 4 - Franzen, Helm, Miller, Lidstrom Sharks 2 - Heatley, Boyle LETS GO WINGS!
-
Yeah.. saw this on a few people's twitters.. I always liked Brashear but Im pretty sure he wouldnt bring any more to the table than May.. and since May is probably gonna end up waived anyways I dont see any point at all in grabbing Brashear..

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Thats funny.. I just read on NHLSourcesSay's twitter something like.. the Wings need goaltending and would obviously be inquiring about Marty Turco.. and to think I actually took his account seriously up until now.. oh well.. Now more seriously.. Im pretty sure there have been threads about each game the past 2 weeks and how it was the most important game of the year.. yet the Wings keep failing and somehow remain in the race.. now.. I gotta think eventually one of these threads is going to be right.. and I think this may be it.. Franzen's back.. the team is atleast close to healthy.. its time for the Wings to put up or shut up.
-
Just read this on TSN and it reminded me of this thread even though its about Toskala.
-
I missed the game.. guess I was lucky.. but whats this i hear on the injuries?.. any details.. if someone could fill me in id greatly appreciate it.

Am I the only one getting tired of seeing the Wings constantly crawl back into the playoffs and then fall right back out?.. I mean seriously.. its time to put some damn games together.. this win one, lose one, win one, lose two thing is going to result in a whole lot of golf come playoff time. It's time to see some wins put together, and I have to think they know that in the locker room. My Prediction: Wings 4 - Williams, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Helm Kings 2 - Frolov, Stoll Let's Go Wings!

I missed the first period last night so I dont know how the 1st 10 minutes looked going down 2-0 but from what i saw in the 2nd and 3rd the Wings looked wayy better than I have seen them look in a long time. Lets hope they keep rolling tonight. My prediction: Wings 5 - Zetterberg, Bertuzzi, Draper, Lidstrom, Williams Ducks 2 - Niedermayer, Koivu LETS GO WINGS!
-
That would have been amazing.

I dont think we would ever see either get traded or waived. Not that it matters. In my opinion Drapes has been pretty good and looked really energized this year. And I havent had much to complain about with Malts either. Last year both looked pretty old and tired but this year they seem a bit better.. I could see having Abs up over Maltby but thats not going to happen during the season anyways..

If you look at it as it stands right now.. than its pretty obvious that this year Rafalski is overpaid.. I dont think anyone can really argue that anything he has done this year warrants 6 million dollars. But there is more than just this year on his contract and considering how well he played for us prior to this I'd say 6 million is pretty fair for a guy who probably could have gotten 6.5 or more somewhere else.
-
I Had that feeling as well. Really gotta hope we see a full 60 minutes of classic Red Wings hockey in this one.. A big win over the Sharks could be a huge confidence booster for the team heading down the stretch. My Prediction: Red Wings 3 - Lidstrom, Draper, Bertuzzi Sharks 1 - Heatley LETS GO WINGS!

So.. we should really be blaming every other Wing on the ice for missing that pass..
