Ok.. Lets actually win a game tonight.. I can accept 3 out of 4 points in a back to back.. I dont think we will have any trouble shutting down the Gaborik line as the Wings seem to have been pretty decent at shutting down the top line of teams all season.. Thats what I was thinking.. I think it would make more sense to say the Wings were interested earlier in the season. I mean I really like Valiquette but Im not sure he is an improvement over Howard at all.

I could be wrong... But I dont think the suspension is for the hit itself.. Isnt there a rule about an automatic suspension if you get a certain number of game misconducts in a certain number of games?.. I believe Ovechkin had 2 game misconducts in 3 games.

Well.. here we go again. Last 2 Games.. 40 Shots on Goal in each and 0 Goals. Tonight I Predict 24 Shots on goal and 4 Goals!.. I Just hope thats for Detroit. Anyways.. normally I would try to predict the score, but I'll give that a break since it hasnt worked so well recently. My prediction: The Wings WILL score a goal. GO WINGS GO!

I have not seen a goal be disallowed because of a crease violation since before the Brett Hull incident. I would expect this kind of bad call with Homer in front of the net because of the reputation but I see no way in which Cleary was causing Kipper any harm. Hell.. When the puck went in the net Kipper was already moving beside Cleary. But I guess when it rains it pours. All we can do is hope for some allowed goals tomorrow night.

I have to agree with the vast majority here and say that anyone who thinks Zetterberg and Franzen are Overpaid is being completely assinine. Zetterberg has been the best player on the team all season long and is pretty much a lock to wear the C next. And when he is healthy I have no doubt Franzen could easily net 40+ Goals a season. The only person who can be called overpaid on this team is Rafalski. He might be worth 4 mil.. if that. But if I remember correctly at the time he was signed it was a pretty good deal. And how can you complain about the Miller pick up? He has dont nothing but impress me since he has been called up, if you think that calling up another prospect from GR to play on a checking line for 7 minutes a night instead of having them stay in GR playing 20 minutes a night on the scoring line was the right move to make then you are as redundant as your posts would make you out to be.

Ive noticed a lack of predictions thus far in the GDT.. is everyone losing faith or something? haha.. anyways.. I agree we will have to be strong defensively against a team as offensively talented as Atlanta.. but actually the games we have played against strong offensive teams have been okay.. so lets hope for more of the same and another win.. I hate looking at the standings on NHL.com and seeing us out of the playoffs.. gives me a sick feeling in my stomach.. so hes predicting a win! I believe the main problem with the top 2 lines is we dont have enough finishers. as it stands the only real finisher on those 2 lines is Zetterberg. Holmstrom has some goals but he is in no way a finisher. Its no secret he isnt standing out in the slot hammering pucks home. So the problem is.. Do you put Datsyuk with Zetterberg and say to hell with the 2nd line.. Or hope that Bertuzzi starts finishing something.. anything at all.. As it stands now it just doesnt work.. Datsyuk has no one on his line to set up.. and Zetterberg isnt having much better luck on the 2nd line being set up.. All I can think of is once Flip is back stick him on the 2nd to set up Z and pop Leino up to the first line to hopefully finish some. He cant really do any worse than Bertuzzi.

Wow.. just wow.. I cant even be mad anymore.. watching the Wings all year long has been just flat out depressing and frustrating.. watching the same story every single game.. I get excited seeing little flashes of Wings hockey and then its back to the reality that is being a beaten down (injury wise) average team. Even minus the injuries it would be hard to argue this is an elite team this year.. But I guess this is just the way it goes.. I gotta believe that we can atleast remain in playoff contention until some of our injuries are healed.. Maybe the one bonus is that we have the Olympic break this year which will allow a couple extra weeks of injury healing for our non-olympic players. Im running out of players to blame for our losses.. Its always easy to blame the goaltending but you arent gonna win hardly any games scoring only one goal. Especially when your best player is Drew Miller. I Know Babs doesnt wanna mix up the lines before Flip gets back but at some point it cant hurt can it?.. Anyways.. sorry for the long winded speech haha.. just had to vent some.
