I agree it must be pretty serious.. considering Cheli didnt play for like the last half of the game its obvious they miss Rafalski.. hope hes back for game 3!

Yeah, its easy to argue either way I guess but in my opinion its not a suspension.. If you think its the same as the Brashear hit then you are wrong.. Brashear targeted the head and the puck was long gone.. Maybe you should reverse the roll and picture it as Kopecky hitting one of the Ducks with their head down watching their pass.. if that was the case 80% of people here would have been furious that there was even a major on the play..

To put it simply..having Sammy on the PP is practically playing 4 on 4.. The other 4 guys keep it to themselves and every time it happens to come to Sammy he seems to bobble it or make a bad decision.. The only purpose he is serving at the moment is a distraction while the other 4 players cycle the puck.. I would love to see Ericsson or Stuart on the point.. both of them have huge shots and Ericsson seems to have have flourished in every other aspect of the game.. why not the PP? 14 seconds is no where near enough PP time for a guy with a 100mph shot..

Well.. the Ducks turned our game on us.. they knew our PP was punishing them for taking bad penalties and realised the best way to use it against us was to dive until we got bad penalties too..

All i can picture is this being game 7 of the WCF.. It had the intensity and all week this has been the big game to look forward to.. in my opinion the big chance for Detroit to prove they are the best.. and all they proved was that when it came right down to it they couldnt handle San Jose.. I have heard a lot of talk of our defense getting better.. but take out the LA game and between Dallas and SJ thats almost 100 Shots Against.. That just will not do in the playoffs.. I havent got a clue why Babs would play Ozzie.. did he not just say like last week that he WASNT going to alternate and he was gonna play the hot goalie and try to work Ozzie in?.. Would this not have been a good game to throw in the goalie who just got a shut out and shut out SJ the last time they played?.. Oh well.. just another game I guess.. But I am gonna have a bad feeling if we meet up with them in the playoffs..

Face it.. its not like the Isles had a snow balls chance in hell anyways.. if they were smart they would just give up now and go for Tavares or Hedman.. Why try to improve your goaltending just enough to come in like 25th or 26th?.. But yeah it is still a pretty dick move by the Jackets haha..

This guy is the reason I never want to see Anaheim in the playoffs again.. I dont remember ever seeing anyone rip it up against the Wings as much as this guy can.. 5 assists last time.. 3 points this time.. he just seems to be a very talented player who is ultra motivated against the Wings..

I dont know if anyone mentioned it or noticed it but when they showed the selke winners with Datsyuk last year and Draper in 04 (I think?).. And I almost laughed.. then i realised how sad it was that 5 years ago Draper won the selke and now the only thing he brings to the team is... faceoffs.. what is he now.. -10 or 11?.. I know there is some values in the wings system that says keep the veterans around but at some point you have got to move on.. if you can keep Chelios out of the line-up then why cant we take out Draper and Maltby and bring in Helm and Downey.. i know the cap room isnt there but theres gotta be a way to fix the 4th line..

I cant really see why Detroit would do this, especially considering both Osgood and Conklin have been playing great the last few games.. I cant see any reason to trade for a 3rd goalie who is arguabley worse than either of the goalies we already have..

Anyone else notice that the Wild's plus-minue leader is Derek Boogaard at +5?... maybe they should start giving him some extra ice time haha... anyways.. final score.. Wings 4 (Hossa, Datsyuk, Draper and Meech) Wild 2 (Boogaard x2) <- lol

I did not need a definition.. I know that a double standard is discrimination in a way.. even if I dont think in this case its quite 'White Vs Colored".. Nor can I defend that kind of discrimination.. But I am saying in some cases there is logic and there are reasons behind double standards.. Right or Wrong.. everyone is going to have their own opinion..

Im not saying it is OK to have a double-standard but their most obviously is a double standard and I am simply defending the logic behind it..

I am not vastly underrating players.. Im saying that maybe these suspensions seem to have a double standard because of the impact on the team.. Im saying that suspending Pronger for 5 Games is probably going to have more of an effect on his team than suspending Simon for an entire season.. I know guys like McCarty, Draper and Maltby have value on our team but what do you think would effect our team more.. Maltby getting a 30 game suspension or Datsyuk or Lidstrom getting a 5 game suspension?

Ok I am definitely not going to argue that there is a double standard in the league.. But how can there not be.. It's hard for me to argue for Chris Pronger because I hate the guy but thats just the way it is... The double standard is there because There is a huge difference between a guy like Chris Pronger and guys like Ryan Hollweg and Chris Simon.. That difference is that pronger is actually a great player.. Ryan Hollweg and Chris Simon bring nothing to their teams besides physical play, trash talking and fighting.. Chris Pronger plays about 20 minutes a game.. when is the last time anybody saw Chris Simon get more than.. lets say 4? Maybe this shouldnt matter and maybe all suspensions should be equal no matter who it involves but thats not the way it is.. And why do people keep saying what if it was Pronger on Datsyuk?.. Ok.. well what if it was Hossa finishing his check on Heward?.. You can take out the names of Ovechkin and Heward and replace them with anybody's names.. It doesnt change anything.. In my opinion the hit from behind on Lilja in the Winter Classic looked worse than this hit and in the end Lilja ended up being the person who got the penalty for it..
