That sounds like an e4 to me. Good news is that back here in reality land this prediction is enough for me to start planning the cup parade.

I feel like Hudler could probably put up about 70 points playing with Datsyuk on the 1st line.. Just kidding. I have to think Holmstrom will get some first line minutes barring any moves before the season. But I could see it ending up being a rotation for most of the season unless someone really steps up and fills the role.

I agree about the 90's. I really want to have someone wear 98. If not that then he could just reverse it and go with 69. Both 69 and 98 have hardly ever been used before.

I wasn't sure if Commie counted as an enforcer.. so I went with the Deadline deal. It would be a pretty ballsy move to sit on this kind of cap space and risk getting eliminated early when the team can easily afford to play at the upper limit of the cap.

If they would do Hudler and Emmerton for Kostitsyn then I would definitely say yes. Hudler wouldnt be a major loss and I have to think he will probably be gone after this year anyways and the Wings can also get something back out of Emmerton instead of losing him on waivers if he doesnt make the cut. Kostitsyn is a pretty decent player and I wouldn't want to give up much more for him value wise than Hudler/Emmerton, but I do agree he seems to have the skill set to reach his potential in the Wings system.

Am I the only one who thinks that the reason he said Detroit has such an extremely low prospect depth and then went on to talk about Helm and Kronwall is because he simply doesn't know any of the players in Detroit's system and is too lazy to look them up? Also, even if the offer was straight up I think the Wings would be out of their minds to deal Helm for Hemsky. Personally I would rather have Helm battling hard and chipping in on the scoreboard for 82 games then Hemsky scoring a couple goals for 20 games.

I am not a reporter, but I do watch hockey and have a very good understanding of it. Obviously no player is going to go out and score a goal every game and be the 1st star every game, but it's obvious when they just aren't trying to, especially when you know they have the skill to make an impact every game. If Kovalev really wanted to prove anyone wrong he could have spent a season playing his ass off and be done with it.. not run off to Russia and pretend like you didnt actually float for games at a time and were just unfairly critisized.

I think if I was Commodore I would have made the same choice. He doesn't want to be some one year gimmick, even though it would have been kind of cool to see. I think this move shows that he is serious about improving his play and making an impact with the Wings.

I have faith in Jimmy. Sure he has had his ups and downs but he's only got two years under his belt. If he can play this season near the level that he left off in the playoffs then I could see him getting Vezina consideration. And I don't care about the soft goals he has let in, if Lolongo can get Vancouver to game 7 in the finals, Jimmy can win the cup for the Wings.

Has ANYONE ever done that before? Bought a player out and then re-signed them while they were still paying for the buyout? This would have to be the first time it has ever happened. Garth Snow is a truely ground breaking GM.

I don't think its a management thing.. I mean if you have your players out there interacting with the fans then it is usually a good thing. I think a lot more of it comes from the players personally.. A lot of the players on the Wings seem like they would rather keep to themselves when they are at home and enjoy their privacy, while other players enjoy spending their days off interacting with fans. I suppose it could also be an age thing, but not entirely. Anyways, aside from Commie there are a few Wings prospects who have Twitter as well and I can't really see the Wings management saying "welcome to the Red Wings, now please delete your Twitter account." Then again it wouldn't surprise me if some teams did just that, I remember seeing a bit of chatter on Twitter wondering if the Hawks would make Mayers delete his account.

I dont really know who I would want off of CBJ (Aside from their top end stars).. But god damn that would have to hurt.

Just throwin this out there, but if you are gonna have such a blind optimism for Osgood then you should probably change your name to something that reflects it so we will all know how you feel.
