Gonna start a twitter account finally...
GSBrooks13 replied to DatZetterfanfromSC's topic in General
Once you start getting a few its pretty easy, Twitter will suggest otehr accounts and is usually not all that far off. Or you could just pick someones account, like mine(@GS_Brooks13) , and bring up the list of people I follow, as long as you dont mind sorting through the mix of MMA and Hockey people haha.. I also have seen a Twitter "List" that you can follow that has all of the active NHL players who have Twitter. On a side note, just thought I would share the funniest thing I saw on Twitter today.. Ryan Kesler tweeted "How do you get a verified account around here!!???!!! Cmon throw a guy a bone" and someone replied "Win a cup." -
Just read on Twitter that Stamkos' agent is meeting with Yzerman tomorrow.. I'm guessing that once that meeting is over we will finally have an end to all this ridiculous offer sheet talk.

Not sure how relaible the source is but its from a Slovak Website using a rough translation. http://hokej.pravda.sk/kopecky-sa-dohodol-s-floridou-na-stvorrocnej-zmluve-f9i-/sk_nhl.asp?c=A110628_114011_sk_nhl_p50

I am also on the re-entry waivers train. I mean the guy was a 3rd Overall Pick and was doing pretty well until he got traded to the Wild.

Just read on twitter from TheFourthPeriod that the Wild put Cam Barker on waivers, probably with the intent of buying him out.. is he any better than the players on that list of RFAs who werent qualified?
-
If I was to make a list of every D-man in the NHL, ranking them by how much I would like to see them on the Wings.. Komisarek would probably be dead last. Especially at that price.

I hate when purple go 'round sayin' stuff. But yeah, welcome to the boards, but I am sure if you take some more time to look around you will notice that people around here don't miss much, so if there is a topic to be discussed, chances are there is already a seperate thread for it.

I agree 100% with Stewart before Carcillo.. I was just tossing the idea since I think there could be a number of teams interested in Stewart.. And the only way Florida takes him at 5 Years, $25M is if Chicago signs him first and then offers him as a trade.
-
What would people think about Dan Carcillo?.. He seems interesting but I have always pictured him as kind of a douchebag, which could be a good thing I guess.. But he has shown glimpses of goal scoring ability in the past and isnt afraid to drop the gloves..

I bet TSN feels like its been hit by THE DOUBLE DION! Oh well, now I wont have to watch his creepy ass on TSN. He does have a lot of hockey knowledge but that is heavily outweighed by his extreme awkward creepy personality.
-
If we sign Jovo I assume Helm will need to watch his back in the showers.. But more seriously.. I wouldn't be opposed to Jovo as E's replacement as a 5th/6th D.. as long no one expects him to be Rafs replacement.. I can't really picture a Lids/Jovo pairing..
-
Meh, I will probably watch it anyways.. but I gotta think NYR vs NJ would have been a better match-up..
-
Oh, we all have our own ideas, we just don't make a new lines thread everytime we have one.
-
Jagr definitely wouldn't be my first choice, but AT THE RIGHT PRICE.. and ONLY at the right price, he could be a decent top-6 plug for a year given the not-so-strong free agent pool this year.. then next year take that money and sign someone better long term..

Weird.. I feel like.. I have been here before..

LINK: http://www.hockeyfights.com/forums/f47/2010-11-worst-enforcing-team-159147/ Not really a huge issue but its a little slow around here and I figure we could use another enforcer thread as opposed to a line thread. Anyways, Wings currently have a HUGE lead, almost 85% of the current votes, for the worst enforcing team in the league against Nashville, Phoenix, Tampa Bay and Carolina.. I am gonna say the number is slightly thrown off by the overwhelming Wings hatred that is found on Hockeyfights.com, but is it true? I know the Wings dont have any real "enforcers" but I don't think that they are the worst enforcing team in the league just because they have the least overall fights.. I mean it's not very often you would see this team get pushed around this year.. Anyways.. guess the only real questions are.. do you think it's true? And if it is, is it a huge concern going forward?

Since HE is the one disagreeing with YOUR original statement then it goes without saying that you disagree with his. In any case, what would make you think that Smith makes the team next year? Given the history of the Wings and the way the organization handles its prospects, the ONLY way Smith makes the team is if he comes into training camp and absolutely blows everybody away and solidifies himself as an immediate top 4 d-man. Other than that I honestly can't see the Wings just bringing him up as a 5/6/7th d-man just because they have the space to do so when he could be earning valuable top pairing minutes in GR.

Its basically the same risk that an NHL team would take drafting a top ranked russian player, you have no guarantee that they will ever play for your team as they could just stay in Russia and play for a KHL team.

http://www.truehockey.com/articles/Detroit-Interested-in-Ty-Conklin Seems reasonable, Conks was pretty good when he was here but has had a bit of a rough season.. I can think of a couple other goalies I would rather see here but I wouldn't complain if we got him.

THIS is the Ericsson the Leafs wanna sign.
-
I say he would make captain in 3-5 years.
-
Does this mean all playoff traditions should carry over? Im not sure how I feel about an offseason beard.
-
I dont see an actual article on TSN about it but they have the video posted on the main TSN NHL page. Anyways, I guess it's not as much fun when you start playing against a team who dives as much as you do.

Konopka and Erskine please. Konopka fills that enforcer need that so many people on this board crave but isnt useless while doing it, he can win faceoffs and isnt a real liability to have out there. I dont know why but I have been a huge Erskine fan since the first time I saw him play. Could easily replace Salei on D. Or even Ericsson since he provides more solid defense than E and removes those awful rushes and pinches that E likes to make.
