I completely agree. Mursak brings more speed, offensive upside, defense and forchecking than Modano does. But I can kind of understand them not wanting to hurt Modano's pride anymore by having Mursak play ahead of him, plus the likelihood of them wanting to get Mursak some more NHL time before throwing him into a situation like that.

What? Haha.. Anyways, I think you are missing my original point. Which was that Hudler deserved the spot over Modano in the playoffs. And you seem to be arguing that same point against me somehow.

For your information, I did know that. I was referring to this season, ya know, the one where Modano played for the WIngs. Since this thread is kinda supposed to be about him.. If you wanna base the argument on career numbers than I would have to say that Modano deserved a spot on the team above quite a few guys.

Anyways, I think this one can be filed under "you cant teach an old dog new tricks" Modano struggled all season, when he was healthy, to grasp the Wings system, and obviously after missing half the year Babs didnt feel he had grasped it enough to warrant consistent playing time. Maybe if Mo had played all year and gotten stronger as the season went on and showed some offensive skill and forechecking ability he would have gotten more of a shot, but that was clearly not the case. It may not be the most popular stance on these boards but Hudler is quite a bit more of an offensive threat than Mo is at this stage of his career. And that is saying a lot given how little Hudler has been able to produce.

Well.. a very average Team Canada and a VERY average Team USA both eliminated.. no Red Wings to watch on Sweden or Russia.. they might as well call off the rest of the tournament now.. By the way, I cant think of any off the top of my head, aside from Miller who I believe is injured, but were Conks and Montoya really the best US goalies available?.. Not that Canada was that much stronger with Reimer/Bernier..

Well it was obvious that if they didnt score on that PP they were gonna lose.. I have tried to stand by Big E on quite a few occasions but he looked completely terrible tonight, especially in OT, every single thing he does is wrong, he doesnt make the right decisions on D, he pinches at the wrong time, he makes the wrong passes, and he takes the wrongs shots. If I was Jimmy I wouldnt even show up for game 4, Jimmy has played well enough this series to be a cup contender, and 90% of the rest of the team hasnt even shown up. Funny how all of the Wings depth has turned into them being basically a 1-1.5 line team at best.

Don't make me laugh, Im trying to be pissed off here.

A beaten down Kings team managed to light Niemi up, the Wings can barely come up with 2 goals on him in 2 games. I'm gonna try to avoid any sort of panic mode until I see the result of game 3, but you would really ******* think the Wings would eventually get tired of being embarassed by a bunch of supposed playoff chokers.

I literally watched that 3 times.. and I have still got no idea what he was talking about.

As a Canadian, generally the flack I end up taking is because I dont cheer for a Canadian team (as if there was a team that was ACTUALLY Canadian).. I live on the east coast so having to listen to ridiculous Leafs, Habs and even Sens fans all day creates a general dislike for me in all of those teams.. but if I was gonna cheer for any "Canadian" team then it would probably be the Canucks. They are fun to watch and have a lot of skill. I assume the perpesctive you are seeing is the same as what a Wings fan would see reading a Canucks forum.. The compliments don't stand out too much but then you read a couple flames or jabs at your team and thats all you remember from it.. Its kind of human nature.. the same as a fan will remember every bad call a ref made during a game but cant recall any of the good ones. Anyways, I don't think it's just the Wings fans who are taking shots at the Canucks.. I follow a lot of hockey fans and writers for a lot of different teams on Twitter and it comes from pretty much all of them equally..

This is the only possible match up that made me nervous at all.. but if Jimmy plays strong and the PK improves the Wings should win.
