I've watched enough hockey, especially the way the game is being called tonight, to know this is not Detroit's night. I'll eat my words if Detroit makes a come back.
-
game over
-
did anyone else see a closed hand on the puck there?
-
doesn't mean he's not hurt.

game on
-
Instead of calling penalties on the wings, from now on Pitts gets an extra man per shift! =p
-
How amazing would a 1-0 wings win be tonight?
-
Everyone is picking the Pens nationally....let em'

If this goes to OT I see Chicago winning. Detroit doesn't have the man power to pull off a long game tonight in my opinion.

i have a bad feeling a goal is coming for the Chi Boys on this one...

You know it's B.S. when CBC and VS are defending the Wings. -
I had heard through the grape vine that supposedly the reason that Osgood was given 10 days off during the season was for an alcohol abuse problem which he has been battling for years. Personally, I think it's a load of S**T because let's face it, if word got out over the years of D-Mac and Probert's off the ice issues, don't you think Osgood's would have leaked out too? I'm going with a drunken story that started in someone's basement. Your thoughts?
-
A lot of players from what I hear cut off all regular drinking habits come playoff time so I think anything Osgood has said refering to drinking wouldn't be any more serious than lets say Zetterberg, Draper, or Lidstrom. But that's just my guess.
-
First, I said this was a rumor through the grape vine. I didn't say there was any factual validity to it and personally said that I think it's b.s. This is a message board for a reason...
-
I just think if this was a preexisting problem, we would have heard about it before. I mean, we've all heard stories from friends who "claim" they've heard these guys either do drugs or drink and lets face it, you can't get better with age (like osgood) when you do stuff like that (unlike mccarty).
-
Is it just me or does anyone else think Osgood would be deserving of Conn Symth if Wings win the Cup this season? (assuming he keeps up at the pace that he has been).

Lets be honest people...this game 7 means a lot, and for a very different reason. In 1993, we wanted to take the next step, lost, and failed to do so. In 1994, we wanted to be taken seriously, lost to practically an expansion team, and pretty much kissed that goodbye. In 1996, we needed to turn the corner, take the next step to being a serious Cup contender, and Yzerman helped us do that. In 2002, we knew that whoever won game 7 would ultimately hold bragging rights of the Wings/Avs rivalry of the 1990s/2000s era, especially knowing that the winner of that series was most likely going to win the cup and hold the edge of cups in the era. In 2009, I personally believe the wings need to win game 7 for pride. They seem to be fighting injuries, officials, and dirty hockey players whenever they play the ducks in the playoffs over the course of the decade. They seem to have the Wings number. The ducks do have talent, I'm not saying that in some aspects, they haven't deserved to win, but the majority of the time the wings have been the superior of the team but for whatever reason, they can't seem to come up on the winning end. I believe this is the biggest game for the wings since Game 7 of 2002. Anyone disagree? Why do you think the wings need to win game 7?

I think Game 7 tonight means players like Holmstrom and Datsyuk need to contribute on the score sheet.
