I think the fast way Ozzie speaks causes him to get ahead of his thoughts and causes him to make mistakes, it constantly feels like he's rushing. He's also too straight forward and only talks about the game how about a story ones in a awhile. Having said all that, I like how knowledgeable he is, Ozzie was a great goalie and really understands the game. With more games under his belt he should get better I'm just not sure his speaking style makes him an ideal commentator.

Here's my reasoning, I think Franzen more than any player on the team needs stability, but with Weiss sticking it up (granted he has played better last 2 games) Franzen has been moved around too much and I think we can all agree he has no business at center. But I think what hurts him is the wings keep drilling into his head that he has to be Homer, which we all know he is not. His best asset is the ability to shoot the puck but with no center he has to go and get the puck himself and be a playmaker which is a style he's not suited for. Not making excuses for him since he has to be more vigilant and stop standing around, he also has to shoot more. But not having a consistent center has really hurt him.

I'm usually pretty hard on Franzen, but I don't think he's played that bad this year. But he really needs a center that can get him the puck, otherwise he disappears.

Aren't Canadians supposed to be tough what's with all the whining.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hey Shanny how about a suspension for Emery, what a tool.

So sick of these type of fights, the Flyers not only embarrassed themselves with their play put twice so with their classlessness. These fights along with fights after clean hits have no place in the game. There has to be a legitimate reason for a fight, other wise it makes you look like a bunch of pu**ies. And what's with the refs not stepping in during Emrey's fight he just kept teeing off on the back to Holtby's head, that could have been really dangerous. I guess it was the NHL'S version of bum fights.

The only redeemable thing about this game is that they put two points in the win column. But another lackluster second. They need to start stringing good games together. But I'll take the win.

Wait. You can actually distinguish between Weiss an Franzen? But in all seriousness when Franzen has the puck he is a good player the problem is when he doesn't have it.

Best game of the year for Weiss vs Canucks. Still has to get better in certain spots but looked great tonight.

Maybe he got distracted by a bird and tripped over a cloud.

No, he's hurt.

More than anything I want to see this team play a 60 minute game. Not just 20 or 40 a full 60 minutes.
-
The problem is the same that they have had for several years now not enough top six talent. The team is made up of mostly third and fourth line guys. One of these days it would be awesome to see what Pavel could do with a 40 goal scorer on his line.

I like Tootoo when he's on the ice you know he's out there you can't say that about a lot of the wings players.
-
That's the problem they still think the're a puck possession team.
-
Here's a novel idea change the system, because with this team the puck possession system just doesn't work. The team just doesn't have the players to rely on possessing the puck for long stretches, time to admit that fact and adapt. No more time for denial all denial gets you is run into the ground by subpar injured teams like the rangers.

I was so happy with Wiess after the first period vs Rangers, but by the end of the night he once again disappointed as did the rest of the team.
-
Best period Weiss has had this year.
-
I'll agree with you on the fact that he needs time to adjust, but he looks soft on the puck which has nothing to do with learning a system. I say move him to the wing with Z and see what he does in a couple games if no improvement you have to sit him. I'm not saying putting him on bench solves the problem but maybe it lights a fire under his ass and makes him fight for a spot instead of letting the pressure of signing a big contract swallow him. Or at least for my sanities I hope so.

Ever since Holmstrom left this team has had absolutely nobody that can consistently tip pucks in front of the net. For the last several years its either a puck goes in cleanly off the shot or the wings have a tough time scoring. Not sure what you do to fix this but not being able it tip pucks past goalies has really demolished the offense. Iwonder if its becoming a lost art, every team seems to want to score on the rush or with traffic, and no team seems to have a Holmstrom or a Smyth.

Huh. The only trades we make are no brainers like Quincy for a first rounder.

Can't believe I didn't get that. On the bright side Sweden is going to be just like the Vikings if Lundquvist keeps sucking.
