I don't think there is a coach in the league that can coach this embarrassment.
-
From now on they should park a defenseman near the net in OT and leave him there.
-
They looked completely confused that entire OT.
-
Finally something gets called.
-
Bert's looking good out there.
-
Any idea on the lines tonight?

After that classy ceremony this team better come out on fire.

Seeing Vladdy still brings a tear to my eye, great job by the fans in attendance.

Trade Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd

Thanks. I think the fact that there would be a cap hit, takes the buyout of the table. I actually hope he returns soon, so we can at least see what a healthy Weiss looks like. -

Are they able to buy out Weiss? I was under the impression that only players that were under contract before the lockout could be bought out. I could be wrong. -

I love Legwand, I'm just concerned about the moves Holland continues to make. -

I remember before Babs signed his last contract he was concerned that by staying too long in one place his message might become stale. Could this be the problem with Holland? If it was just one move, it wouldn't be a big deal but we've seen a series of activity and maybe even worse inactivity that has led me to be concerned. We got nobody to replace Rafalski, nobody to replace Lidstrom(not the player, since he is irreplaceable, but the production), Pav and Z are getting up there in age and no replacements are coming. Nyquist spent the first half of the season in the AHL, and we are lucky to have Tatar on the team, because for it not for his whining Holland wouldn't have given him a chance. It's not all doom an gloom, we still have a good team and the future looks fairly bright, but I just think Holland is no longer that shiny penny. Take the promotion and let someone else be the GM. -

I think the Holland bubble has burst he is no longer one of the best GM's in the NHL, the cap has taken a lot of steam out of his sails. I think it's time to create a new position, promote him, and get some fresh blood into the organization by hiring a new GM. -

No, I agree the trade makes little sense, I'm just saying I wouldn't worry what happens five years from now, I think we'll be fine. -

I don't think that will be the case, since the scouting department has been pretty consistent. -

I actually I don't have a problem with Weiss, the Wings needed a 2nd line center and they went and got one who turned out to be a dud so far; which barring hind site no one could have predicted. My issue would be how many talented players did Holland pass up on in the last 5-7 years? A lot of them were better then Weiss and yet he decided to give Sammy 3 mil a year and sign Weiss to 5 years. When was the last time we were genuinely surprised and excited by a Holland move? The only two have been Alfie last year and Hossa in 09 otherwise most of his moves have been predictable, even today's Legwand move wasn't a surprise. -

I agree that a player should put in his time and earn a spot, but I'm sure Nyquist would say that he spent too much time in the minors. As would Helm who kept getting called up for the playoffs but get sent down during regular season. I hate the whole over-ripe philosophy, when a player is ready he should get the chance. -
Thanks.

Anyone know what time the ceremony starts?

Package Andersson and Weiss for a defenceman? But realistically Glendening and Andersson/Sheahan will probably end up in the AHL, which will re-ignite the Nyquist style debate all over again. -

Weiss on 4th line is a complete waste, he's not that type of player. If Kenny resign Legwand, which I'm sure he'll do, Weiss would need to be traded, which I'm sure he won't do. -

I like Legwand, have for years; but this trade stinks to high heaven. Like the player hate the trade especially after Holland sat on his hands for years. -

I wonder if Vanek was traded last minute and Holland was too busy with Legwand at that time. Has Holland given a statement yet?
