What makes you think they have a chance? PROS: Nick is coming back. Brett Lebda isn't. No Olympics. That little guy's back. We get to see some young guys from GR. Flip, Ericsson, and Howard have one more year of experience. CONS: Nick took $6.2 million. No cash for a decent free agent. There's no addition to a losing team, just subtraction. THE WINGS GOT FIGURED OUT BY THE SHARKS, who's next?

I wouldn't mind letting Miller or Eaves go if we could keep Bertuzzi and get Prospal at the $1.1 million he signed for last year. Both, especially Bert, would be cheap if they signed multi-year deals since they haven't been able to stick anywhere for a while.

It's not that I don't think he's worth the money because if it was a multiyear deal I would love the price. And if I could get $7mill I would take it. The problem I have is he said he wants to retire but not winning the cup stopped him. That put me under the impression the game meant more than the money and he was going to give Kenny some help getting a legit contender together. This one year may set them back if they lose and have to rebuild next season. I will never lose faith in Mick but I think his actions contradicted his words. That said I think we got him for a steal and will just hope last years problems are over.

Holmstrom has taken more punishment than any other Wing so if any player deserves a raise it's Homer. Plus he's the one who got us in the playoffs this year. The problem is he is 37 and his body won't hold up like Lids has over a multiyear deal/raise. If he wants a multiyear deal it has to be at the same rate. Otherwise Kenny has to decide is worth letting a fan favorite go to bring in youth that may play a different game but be more durable over the years of his contract or keep a guy out of loyalty. If Lidstrom retires he's probably taking Homer and Draper with him, hopefully its after this season after winning another cup.

Kind of like him centering Cleary and Bertuzzi next season? May not be a superstar line but with those two healthy they can add the third line scoring we missed this past season. I'm not very excited about relying on an undersized center who left the team for cash but as a third line player I don't mind him.

Maybe he should have sat out of the rest of the season so somebody who was %100 could've played. I don't believe somebody with those injuries can effectively play professional hockey.

Just a little, I may be asking too much for him or maybe expecting too much from him but whatever everybody else is seeing in him, I'm missing it. Just my opinion but it is hard watching him play and I do realize he was injured for a while,and I don't think he will ever have more value than he does now.

Filppula sucks, trade him while people still think he has value. Use him for a top ten pick or a defenseman. I can't stand watching him shoot when he should pass and pass when he should shoot. I'd rather him be good somewhere else than have to watch him not live up to his potential here. He's just as lazy as Leino with ten times the hype. Do it Kenny!

That sucks!!!!!!! After this one year contract ends I'll look at Dish, I wanted Comcast until my neighbor who's a Comcast customer service rep said he'd kill me if I subscribed to Comcast. Thanks!

So I signed a year contract with DirecTV and asked to make sure they had FSN Detroit and Versus. Now Comcast and DirecTV are in a dispute and I can't see any games on Versus. If I order Center Ice, will I be able to see every Wings game? The customer service guy is offering it for over half off and I'm gonna take the deal but will be pissed if I miss the biggest games of the year and the playoffs.

ZDH Mule-Flip-Bertuzzi Cleary-Williams-Eaves Leino-Helm-Draper/Maltby Can't wait for season to start, so much competition within team for spots and hopefully they get rid of Maltby (odd man out, love the guy but it's time) and clear space for younger players who haven't maxed out their potential. Even with our loss on offense we have nothing to worry about, this is going to be a great year win or lose. That second line is gonna have some good size, speed, skill, and grit, the exact thing this teams needed for years.

In my nonexpert opinion, I hope Cheli retires and they move a couple guys for some younger cheaper players and can keep everybody. I think with we can afford to lose a guy fom the second pairing and not suffer one bit. I'd rather see Hossa stay over Franzen. I just think if Franzen left his numbers would drop off and Anahiem would get srewed again on the deal.

I like him but it's a bit expensive when we have so many young dmen and could use a second line scorer and someone on the pp. But great news anyways and hopefully they trade him in a couple years for a forward.

I don't like Lebda as a player or person and his trade value will never be higher because he has no potetential to move off a third pairing on a good team. Once he loses his speed /mobility he will be nothing. He is taking a roster spot that that could be filled by a GR guy. We don't need him if we have Meech. My point was, when you have an excess of something you should use it to your advantage. I'm not saying Knuble is a great player so don't get me wrong, but he's worth more than Lebda in my opinion. Holland already eluded to signing a bunch of guys and trading a couple off so if it's anybody I hope it's him.

Dallas Drake = Vet = Drafted by Detroit = Stanley Cup Mike Knuble = Vet = Drafted by Detroit = ?????????? I would love to see Lebda get traded in some sort of deal for anybody, so if Knubles' cap hit is low enough I'd do it even if he sucked all season and saved whatever he had left for the playoffs. Just trade Lebda and maybe Meech and I'll be happy.
