Honestly if anybody told me Drake, Hartigan, and Mccarty would be playing for Detroit in the play offs before the regular season started I would have laughed in their face. Unfortunately with injuries Hartigan and Mac are out there. In my opinion I think Drake hasn't came back fully after taking his shield off. He's a vet and I think within a game or two we'll all see why Kenny signed him. I just wish he could be out there with Kopecky cuz I do think Hartigan is a waste of space. Drake is f'n sweet and he's gonna lay someone out and turn a game around real soon.

I would save Downey for the third and fourth games in Nashville but unfortunately when Maltby comes back either Hartigan or Mac will be out anyway so Downey and Abdelkader move even futher down the list unless someone else gets hurt or screws up big time. Did anybody listen to the video recap on TSN where the announcer said Lebda took a shot during the game. I don't like Lebda at all but I still found it funny. He must of got him confused with Stuart (#22 and #23). Everyone's entitled to an opinin but taking out Cheli for Lebda on the third pairing would be stupid. Cheli and Lilja are p.k.er's and purely a defensive unit if anybody thinks Lebda plays better D than Chelios then lets check back in twenty years and see if anybody remembers Lebdas name. The guy is a jerk and sucks I hope they trade him in the off season or let him become a ufa when the time comes.

Can't tom cruise use the miracles of scientology to heal him? Anyways I think he'll be back with Stuart and be ready to crush the Sucks in the 2nd or 3rd round. Plus once this Mccarty kid we've been hearing about gets his chance we'll all be saying "Homer who?".

I have comcast digital and it says channel 900 and 901 are called "CTV" and nothing is on the channel guide for game time nor is there anything on the channel right now. Do you or anybody know if it will come on later? I know fsn will show the game at 11:00 but I usually fall asleep watching those retelevised games.

I don't think they would pick the Wings over the Bruins, why would they want the last games ever played in Yankee Stadium to be losses to the Tigers and the Wings? If their smart, they'll give the Rangers a chance to win and let them play Boston.

I agree 100% with everybody on LGW, I hope I haven't hurt anyones feelings by expressing my own, personal thoughts and exercising the right to free speech or by disagreeing with them. I know this isn't my website and there are rules to play every game so hopefully I can abide. It's impotant for everyone to remeber how sensitive people are today. I hope we can all be tolerant to all ethnicities, religions and the heteroly challenged members. It's funny how hockey is supposed to be the toughest sport but someones words can destroy a person. When people preach tolerance, it's mostly about their personal situation, but what about the person their preaching to, where's the tolerance to let their words be heard? This is a message board for a very intense sport with the most fervent and loyal fans, sometimes words can't describe the passion felt by a fan and sometimes words can but they take on different meanings to different people. Hopefully, as most of us do, when we read another members thoughts, we remember that that person is just as anonymous as you and just as opinionated. I do think this a great site and has a lot of great members, I just bums me out when people take away from the thread topic to express their non-hockey related feelings. There's one sheriff on this website who does a darn good job, so stop playing police and start talking hockey.

My question is; can teams claim players on waivers after the deadline? My concern is after our starters return, Quincey and Ericsson get claimed (not woried about Mac) on the way down.

I think he's implying they're lieing so they don't get reamed before the deadline cuz other gm's would know he's desperate (which they/he/we're not).

Even if they did sign him, he wouldn't play for weeks. He's so out of shape I don't even want him breathing the same air as the Wings right now. If they played him it would be a joke. I like him returning but not until he's physically ready. He'd get two shifts and it be would like like he was skating with a parachute on his back. I can just see it now, he would be huffing and puffing across the blue line with everyone skating off in the other direction. Then as soon as he got back to the bench they put an oxygen mask on him and hand him a 40. It sounds good but why waste that spot on the bench. And right now if I were Downey I'd be pissed off cuz they'll scratch him for Mac and when Mac underachieves they'll say "Please Mr. Downey come protect us..." and so on and so forth blah blah blah. He shouldn't even get ice time until they trade off Huds and Sammy and a spot opens up then the fourth line could be Downey Kopecky and Mac/Drake. The end.

I would not like this deal short and long term. We could keep Flip here cheap for a long time and he keeps getting better (in my opinion) unlike Hudler and Sammy. I'd package those two for anybody. I like Flip and don't want him to go. I don't think he's the next Datsyuk but he could be a great second liner here for a long time.

Is the pizza party at Ceasar Land or Chuck E. Cheese? If I were ATL. and it was at Chuck E's I'd hold out for a bucket of tokens and take the deal.

Feds is in JLA doing the interview and skating. It may have been for the game they just played but I hope it's a sign of things to come. Like I said, probably already been talked about, but, just in case it wasn't I thought I'd mention it.

Is it just me, or did Nicks face look like a computer rebooting when he was trying to get off the ice? It reminded me of Terminator after he got his head smashed or Van Damme in Universal Soldier. This whole thing goes to show the class of the Wings cuz nobody on our team gets that cheap our head hunts other teams best players. I'm sure he'll be back in a couple weeks just fine ad well rested. I guess the only good that came out of this, is the emotion we played with after that.

My suggestion to anybody who wants this to happen, like I do, is to go to Red Wings home page and click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page and send an e-mail to general management and tell them. I'm sure it's very annoying but I doubt they read it or care what I think anyway.

If you want a cup it's gonna cost you. More than likely LA wouldn't even want Lilja back so it would be someone else. He can't block shots from the box and when he's on the opposite end of the ice when gives away the puck throwing himself to the ground won't help anybody. What I said was he's not a top 4 d-man, the only reason he's good on the pk is because the other team is already in front of our net so he can't give them the chance to create a breakaway. I'm just not comfotable with him being a top 4, that being said he would probably take Lebdas spot if he was still here. If he sucked he wouldn't be here, but I just feel he's not going to handle the pressure come play offs with that many minutes.

I'd take Blake over Lilja, even if he had a f'n peg leg. I almost threw up when I heard someone say he is one over their top p.k.ers during a game. How could the guy with the most pims be a top p.k.er unless it's because their stronger when he's off the ice. I have seen improvement from him but he always overshadows it with bad penalties and giveaways. Lebda can at least carry the puck into the zone, he makes bad plays but isn't as much a liability as Lilja but neither of those guys are a top 4. We lost last year because our D got shut down with injuries, lets not go in this year with a couple of scrubs playing too many minutes putting all the pressure on 4 other guys with Kronners health already failing.
