  1. I think that Miller's insertion into the line-up had a lot less to do with Hudler's performance (too much being read into that IMO) as it was a testament to Miller's ability on the PK, which we DESPERATELY needed. In order to insert Miller, someone had to sit, and Hudler was the best option.

During the game last night, thinking Franzen was likely to be out for Tuesday, my first thought was Modano in for Franzen. However, the PK was better last night with Miller, so he stays, and though I think Hudler's size is a big liability against a bigger Sharks team, I think he's back in.

I feel that Modano's size, speed, and strength would be a better fit for this series, and MAYBE there is something to be said about his comments (I think there is too much being read into this also), but do you really think Babcock is going to NOT ice the team he feels is best just to spite a player he's annoyed with? I don't think so. I think Babcock feels Hudler is the best choice...and that's probably who it will be. Sad for a lot of us, but true nonetheless.

Sadly, I have to agree....But I think Mo's nose has been rubbed in it enough!:D PUT HIM IN! IT'S TIME!:ranting:

  2. in the 3rd period Sunday night. Been watching a lot of hockey and perhaps best period of hockey I've seen this playoff season. There seemed to be a paradigm shift and Wings just took game to another level. In a few days will we be talking about the 4th team to come back from 3-0? I think so. Go Wings!!!

Also- I think Niemi is going to be soft the rest of the series.

    I love your optimism!

  3. It is knee-jerk city... His boneheaded penalties have definitely pissed me off something fierce but I still don't want this kid out. He has that hunger and drive we need for the rest of this series. Call me out on it if ya like, the kid has tons of heart.

 experience is the best teacher, we'll see how good of a student he is!

  4. Miller was in before Modano. He is not even on Babcock's radar. Perhaps announcing your retirement before the playoffs wasnt such a great idea Mike.

:siren: :siren: :siren: We have a winner!!!!!:siren: :siren: :siren:

TOnight showed us what skating fast does to the Sharks. An injured Franzen and slow ass Hudler should be replaced by Modano and Miller. Simple as that.

    AMEN!!!

  5. really.....maybe the coaches in 72 could get away with giving the refs their 2 cents, but in TODAYS NHL a coaches team would pay tons for that 2 cents. you`ve been watching hockey that long and you cant see how its changed...........damn its not like its that subtle!

you're missing the point.......Do you see the coaches behind the bench with smiles on their faces agreeing with everything that goes on? NO! Please re-read!

  6. There could certainly be something going on behind the scenes, but I'm not going to waste my time thinking about it or getting angry about it, and it's not my job to figure it out. I don't like being angry or paranoid about things.

I agree. I have watched & played this wonderful game since 1972. The coaches have been and always will, give the refs their 2 cents.I would not want to ref this game as it has become so fast to the nth degree. 4 sets of eyes cannot possibly cover everything. You can never take out the human factor in sports officiating.

  7. Question?.......by putting in Mo, would we be throwing in the towel? He's bigger than Hudes and faster......... better stick skills........ still a force to reckon with......I'm being sentimemntal and don't want Mo's career to end without playing another game, besides Franzen doesn't look 100% imo. Let him rest... we will need him in the long run...... it's time to get into the Sharks heads, they know Mo's history against them!

  8. Game 5 will be the tough one. If we can win game 5 we then have home ice for 6, and then going into game 7 we will have confidence and anything can happen.

For me, I just want to enjoy watching my favorite team play, even if its just one more game. If we tie the series, then ill get excited again

    Ditto!

  9. No!!! Both teams are mirrored images of one another overall. Physically, SJ is bigger and faster.....but lack experience....The hockey gods are smiling upon the Sharks with puck luck at the moment and are testing Detroit's faith. 2 lucky deflections are the difference in this series. ( and poor PK) I see a win tonight! They know what it takes! Let's go boys!:siren:

  10. He brings more to the table than any of Abdelkader/Eaves/Miller. Speed, a booming shot and a force on the power play. Why he is being benched, I have no idea. Get him back out there and let him fly.

He opened his mouth about retiring during at a crucial point of the season....Red Wing hockey is about team and not about me.....I want him in as well. The mule isn't ready......
