not sure this is worth a new thread, but aaron downey was on OTR tonight and talks about the red wings locker room and leadership. its interesting because he says that its a no BS room and people who dont "buy into the system" 100% find a greyhound ticket in their stall. he also talks about his day with the cup and i found it all interesting. no one is going to want the twins because their contracts are running out and both need to be re-signed. they will only play together and it will cost like 12-14 million to sign those idiots. goddamn i hate those twins. atlanta will never make that trade.

this guy will never play. jeff finger is going to be a total superstar and andy wosniewski is going to step up as a 20 goal scorer. ian white just looks like a gremlin but the guy takes tae bo in the offseason and can kick some serious ass. mccabe will be an allstar so there is just no need for this jurgen furgen character.

good point. i really didnt want to do the research but like someone else just said maltby is a great penalty killer but i couldnt care less if we lost kopecky. laraque is awesome but the guy earned over like 1.5M didnt he?

i love fighting and i believe that every team needs an enforcer. while i would love to get a guy like bob probert or mccarty in his prime (i have milan lucic in my mind no matter how ridiculously unlikely that would be) who can play every game and beat the hell out of nearly anyone around, these guys are few and far between. what i mean is most of todays enforcers are just boxers who can skate and these guys just dont interest me. i want a guy who can drop them when he needs to but can actually play a two way game. i think we need to resign downey because he did a great job last year and then maybe a middleweight who can drop the gloves 3-4 times a year.

on OTR it sounded like Z and D will be split for at least part of the season now that hossa is here.

so why didnt this happen last year? we have virtually the same roster with the exception of hossa and now all of a sudden, according to you, the wings will be decimated and lucky to be alive after the season? i admit i only read the first page but i didnt see an explanation from you for how we survived last year.

emery sucks, i saw a lot of this guy and i really cant stand his attitude. he fought mcgrattan in practice and has a reputation of just standing there without moving in practice. we all know about the showing up late, the car accidents and road rage s*** and living in ottawa i know a lot of people who see this ******* at the bars and ive heard from a lot of different people who arent connected that this guy is a HUGE cokehead and doesnt even try to hide it. NO THANKS! ....but i too have complete faith in kenny and try my hardest not to question his infinite wisdom.

the coyotes will finally be worth watching!!!!!!!!! Phoenix is going to be pretty good this year! im calling them to make the playoffs because of their leadership with Doan and Jovo and their youth. Kyle Turris has been on my radar big time the last few years because he reminds me so much of stevie y (and not because of #19). SIDENOTE: ive been depressed for days because last weekend stevie was in ottawa for the draft with the cup at a bar my buddy bounces at and i missed the call to go. jokinen, turris and mueller will be great but they seem to have a good balance of youth and experience and they also have some goaltending with bryzgalov. i dont know what they have planned for defense other than jovo and morris but i like that they signed mcgrattan today and they already have carcillo who is quickly going up in my books for his hard and honest play.
