its just supposed to be a joke. when someone says on-pace its funny no matter what such as when a player scores two goals in the first game of the year and you can say "Wow! He's on pace to score 164 goals this season!" on pace and arguably can be used for just about anything. For instance, "Mikael Samuelsson is arguably the best player on the detroit red wings and since the detroit red wings are the best team in the nhl samuelsson can be considered the best player in the league and as such the best player in the world."

ovechkin is the first player to score 60 in 12 years, he has absolutely carried that team and he will likely bring them to the playoffs. he got 4 points last night! the guy is an absolute beast and there is absolutely no way the nhl will deny him the hart because he deserves it more than anyone. im cheering like crazy every night for the caps because he is in my top 3 favourite nhl players.

sundin has put up astounding points in his career as a centreman without even one mediocre winger. the guy is a powerhouse on his own and is one of the most valuable players in the league. the guy truly bleeds blue and he plays with a passion ive only ever seen a few other guys play with. he refuses to leave toronto because he is not interested in winning a cup anywhere else and he is also the highest scoring player in maple leafs history which is one hell of an accomplishment. sundin will be in first ballot.

scott niedermayer is an absolute lock so lets just be serious. As of 2007, Niedermayer is the only player to take home every major North American and International Championship in his career: he has won the Memorial Cup, World Junior Hockey Championship gold, World Hockey Championship gold, Olympic gold, the Stanley Cup and the World Cup. and he also has like 4 stanley cups so i think its safe to say he'll make it.

i saw the wings v ottawa this year and it was stevie's induction to the ottawa sports hall of fame. obviously not that big of a deal or honour but it meant that they had a ceremony for him before the game honoring his career and then at every tv timeout they played an awesome montage on the screen of stevie highlights. it was magical....except the wings lost which sucked. because it was yzermans night there were an incredible amount of wings fans there and even some michiganers who made the trip! but i never get any crap about my jersey because sens fans are too busy being losers and hating the leafs.

the ducks are gonna be involved in a first round bloodbath. dallas, minnesota or calgary will give them exactly what they want as far as old time hard hitting hockey and each of those teams stocks a hell of an agitator and some huge bodies. not to mention san jose who i think is the biggest team and would sure make things difficult on them.

colorado - they dont scare me in the least and i think it will be fun to pound them again. plus we can maybe get some revenge on lappy! calgary - kipper scares me and theyre a rough team, even more than last year and i see this one being a long drawn out battle but then again just about every series is in the west! vancouver - just like everyone else im not so worried about the nucks as i am luongo. they cant score but if they put one by us each game that could be enough. they also have NO defense. minnesota - they have boogaard, fedoruk and simon. this sounds ridiculous because im not worried they will beat us so much as beat us up. i dont want to watch a series where our entire team falls victim to cheapshots. plus backstrom is a crazy good goalie. these arent in any REAL order i guess but give me colorado first.

trust me, this will be on every blooper reel for like 50 years. sure it took a funny bounce at the last second but nevertheless end to end shorthanded goals that go past a goalie dont happen to often...if ever. unless youre playing nhl08 because they happen all the damn time in that game.
