don cherry is hilarious. i wouldnt miss coaches corner for anything and ive seen it almost every saturday night of my life. the guy is way off base but thats what makes the segment so good. seeing ron maclean trying so hard to keep him on topic and don insulting just about every one he mentions make for excellent tv. obviously jovo will never win a norris but n o one takes him seriously anyway.

if they start using video replay for every call the game would become ridiculous. all of a sudden they would be taking a measuring tape out every time a goal was scored to see if there may have been an offside. a dump and chase play would be put under the microscope to look for icing. this is just a horrible stretch of bad calls and i think the nhl needs to maybe look at who theyre bringing in rather then turning to video replay because the sharks goal and this one are entirely inexcusable.

tsn is saying he will play tonight so i figure if he gets like 20 pts in the remainder of the season the nhl will be bending over backwards to somehow award him the hart. just kidding, but either way it seems a little too soon to me.

i give him 4 games...crosby is playing tonight though which i find more interesting

mike myers is a huge leafs fan and has been trying for years to make a movie about them. this was 100% his idea and he asked the nhl and the leafs permission to use the jerseys. my parents were actually at one of the games at the ACC where they filmed parts of the movie during intermission. it was a preseason game against the sabres. the leafs also gave their permission to make another movie using their logo about a *** ex maple leaf. its called breakfast with scot...i have no opinion. and obviously this movie will be played in the u.s. because mike myers and jessica alba are in it for starters.

he has so many points because he plays alot of PP with jagr. he certainly wouldnt be on a line with someone like that here in detroit. saying he is a cancer is an understatement.

okay avery to me is not a dirty player and the one i thing i like about him is that at least he will drop the mitts with someone after he beaks them and at least he doesnt wear a visor. saying that i think he is an absolute embarassment to the game and i would be livid if that piece of garbage signed with the wings. 2.5 million is absurd and he wont get that from anyone. an agitator is one thing but the stuff he says about peoples families is unreal and i dont care if he denies it because there have been so many allegations against him about that stuff that at least some of them have to be true.

apparently pronger took a stick in the face and has what theyre calling a jaw contusion and he seemed very angry and in a lot of pain as he left the ice. bertuzzi also got beaten up by patrick lalime after he got pulled and then put back in and selanne scored a hat trick. damn i wish i had seen this one!

okay so chelios and kronner are out there at least so hopefully our defense will start trickling back soon. between this and the other thread about the practice i gather lidstrom is 10-14 days away and rafalski's groin looks like maybe 14 days tops?

okay guys im really starting to wonder whats going on with the injuries because i havent seen much on here about return dates. lets see if we can find some info on this. hasek: i understand he is back cleary: how much longer for him? kronwall: shouldnt he be back by now? lidstrom: its about a week right? please no concussion. rafalski: where the hell is he? anyways any hell you guys can provide will be much appreciated.

pronger ended up getting jaw surgery to repair a minor fracture and apparently most of his teeth got smashed. all in all that is awesome and he will miss a couple games or so. i saw this on tsn last night so no link.

haha i gotta admit i started this thread so we could all make comments about 'fair justice' and the like but wow i definitely didnt expect so many i hope he dies on his way to the hospital with his family type comments. i HATE pronger and im glad to see him get a taste of his own medecine and i cant say i wouldnt raise a glass to the thought of his career being over but i cant actually wish a career ending injury on him.
