well lets be serious...who really believed he would be out 7-10 days? no surprise here, i had already written him off for at least twice that.

DenJ91 you also need to consider the fact that part of the reason the best players such as gretzky and lemieux dont get hit is because they dont put themseleves in vulnerable positions. i have heard countless times from players that they found it almost impossible to hit gretzky because he was too fast and slick. these guys are pros and if they could have they would have run gretzky or lemieux over. if they wont do what it takes to win within the rules then i have no respect for them. how often do you see daniel alfredsson (who i hate with every fiber of my being) get more than a bump? or lidstrom? they are too intelligent and even though everyone is trying to hit them, they simply cant catch them.

last year i called him every name i could think of and was screaming for his head but then there was this ray of light where he scored like 5 points in the last game of the regular season and i started saying "maybe i had this guy all wrong? maybe he is going to step it up in the playoffs!" needless to say i was sorely disappointed and now call him more names than ever before. this man does not belong on an elite team's second line.

i cringed when i saw him go to the ice last night. like others have been saying at least he went down now and its nothing serious so hopefully he will be back in top form by the playoffs. now as for malik, the current asking price is much too high right now and no teams seem to be interested. for anyone who doesnt know, according to sportsnet the price is a top four defenseman for malik. rob blake, the price remains to be seen but i imagine it will be ridiculous. personally i hope holland pays particular attention to the firesale in toronto and goes after hal gill. he is big and strong and solid defensively. here's hoping cliff fletcher's price is reasonable...sammy and drake for hal gill (note sarcasm)

datsyuk is phenomenal! he is really earning that big contract. he is a guy who does something awesome with the puck EVERY time he touches it. i watched him deke in the corner for like 40 seconds straight last night and guys twice his size couldnt take the puck. and who else saw this awesome stat last night during the game?! 6 of the top 10 in +/-! okay richard peddie publicly admitted that hiring a rookie gm was a mistake. there is absolutely NO WAY they will hire yzerman even if he were interested in taking the job. brian burke is a long shot but i think they are planning at trying to throw a ridiculous amount of money at all the top guys and work their way down. so that means throwing like 5 million at burke and if he says no then 5 million at holland and so on down the list from top to bottom.
