this all-star game has disaster written all over it. finally they're mixing things up and trying to attract more fans to it but they havent even got the best players going! i am still stoked to see the shoot-out competition because i cant wait to see what datsyuk has been working on. but as for corey fairy and scott niedsapair im furious.

kronwall is most definitely too high a price to pay for sundin as a rental. everyone else on that panel quickly points out that they dont agree with maguire and believe that sundin will fetch a few young roster players (such as upshall in the forsberg deal) and a couple of relatively high picks. tsn also has a segment where they discuss whether the matthias for bertuzzi trade will make GMs a little more weary to make deadline deals and it was a 50/50 split between the panelists.

who cares? i heard a babcock quote on nhl.com saying that lidstrom tapes his stick better than anyone he has ever seen!! but seriously i kind of like those commercials and i like the one where staal says, "is this the year we find out which one is dad's favourite?" but the one allstar commercial that has kane, turco and zetterberg in it doesnt make a lot of sense because 2 of them never got voted or chosen and the other is injured. the ones from last year were sweet with the hotel stuff mostly just for the end where crosby does the seinfeldesque "Ovechkin!"

jim nill, steve yzerman, scottie bowman, kenny holland and even elements of the wings' scouting staff have been named on tsn. it is so funny to watch because its like MLSE is going, "hmmm the red wings win...what if we throw money at everyone in their organization and see if we can steal them away? that'll solve our problems!" brian burke, lou lamieorello and rutherford have been named too though so hopefully they'll poach off someone else.

awww dammit ive been dreading this day. i was the same as everyone else though when we got bertuzzi. never thought for even a moment matthias would amount to anything but then watching the juniors i was blown away and couldnt believe we had traded this kid for big bert.

the leafs have invested like 7 years or something in antropov and he is just now performing for them. he is one of the only good things the leafs have going for them at this point in time and he seems like a good deal at 2 million. it is now looking possible that the leafs may let ferguson go so if the wings want to take advantage of an idiot like ferguson they should do it quickly.

okay so ryan smyth takes the cake in my book, seriously he is one ugly dude. jiri hudler is up there too though, the guy looks like a damn hobbit and pavel's head is a triangle.

wow....every one of those trades makes next to no sense. sundin can obviously be traded but seriously why are people even bothering to come up with their own trade ideas for guys like mccabe and raycroft!? NOBODY wants them. obviously ferguson is on the phone with every gm he can reach and is trying to give these guys away but no one seems interested at this point. if he decides to blow the team up right now then he will get hardly any return for any of these guys. its time to start firing people and waiving some of the bush league players like raycroft with his 4.00 gaa. there's no point in blowing the team up mid season. trade sundin for some young prospects and picks and cross your fingers in a 25% shot at stamkos. then if you get him dont trade him for owen nolan or a similarly old and washed up player such as roberts or recchi.

i agree, i laughed my ass off at almost every one of these trades. to me the ottawa one seems the most ludicrous trade of them all because i think sundin would rather die than wear a sens jersey. while i do think sundin should be rented for the good of the organization, i cannot imagine this happening. IF it did happen, he would go to a contender because sundin is so loyal to the leafs that he would only leave if he thought the situation was so desperate in toronto (which it is after seeing the 5-0 drubbing they just suffered) that by leaving he would be helping the team. as much as i know sundin would massively improve the wings' chances at winning a cup, i dont think i ever want to see him in anything other than a leafs jersey. as much as i would love to see sundin hoisting the cup because he deserves it so badly...i dont think i would like to see him in anything but a leafs jersey.

thought i would throw this in there just because it has some reputable men discussing what they would ask for in return for sundin. some of them seem a little on the cheap side while others seem a little on the expensive but nevertheless its interesting to see what some "experts" think. here is the link: http://www.thestar.com/Sports/Hockey/article/292233 they asked john muckler and this was his response for those who dont want to read: personally i dont like the idea of giving up this brendan smith kid because look what happened with matthias at the world juniors. it definitely pained me to watch. and why the hell would the leafs want lilja? another big slow defenseman? theyve already got kubina, gill, wizniewski and mccabe for that. and for the record, ive cheered for the leafs for 20 years and watch every game, kaberle IS a steal at 4.25 million but so far this season hal gill has been basically their best defenseman which may surprise some but its true.

i saw this on tsn. they dont show the fight but apparently it started when they bumped into each other while skating. somehow this escalated into a full out fight but this is very common in other leagues, i just didnt know it happened in the nhl, especially with the 3 million dollar goalie as someone else pointed out. i also would have thought that paddock and murray would be pretty pissed but paddock said something like i really couldnt care less and im just happy it was emery v mcgrattan and not redden v mcgrattan. when i saw them on tsn they were laughing about it and neither had any visible signs of being in a fight. emery is crazy right now and makes the headlines every day here in ottawa with his stick throwing, showing up late and hell the other day he showed up on a snowmobile! they even hired him a personal assistant to help get his life in order. im actually going to the game saturday night and i sure hope its him playing so i can heckle the hell out of him!

darren dreger from tsn reported last night that marty reasoner from the oilers is one of the players but apparently that is the only one he knows for sure is wearing them. do these skates look any different from regular ones? like can they be spotted on an hdtv maybe?

that guy finally turned off the stream and says he wont be turning it back on because he hasnt been able to watch the game while he tried to fix it. looks like ill be watching the leafs game and listening to this one on nhl radio

completely ridiculous! i honestly thought he would get around 10 games and there would be some sort of discipline towards the entire organization. come on, its still november and the season is less than 2 months old and they have 4 suspensions? two of which are some or the longest in the history of the league.
