i watched two of the exhibition games here in ottawa and smith was really outplayed. in the second game especially he was a turnover machine but thats not to say he sucks or anything, just that he needs more time to develop. the guy is a great skater and makes a good first pass so my assessment is he is the prototypical red wings defenseman.

i pro-lined this game tonight so i cheered for the wings but i decided that im now hoping for about 4 consecutive losses so they can get their s*** together.

i would clap him out the door. he is completely useless and 100% expendable. the red wings must have 15 guys in the minors who could do his job better.

i dont blame lebda for that penalty shot because it was definitely going in if he didnt grab it. not surprised ozzy blew the penalty shot though.

well at least to light a fire under someones ass. i think maybe people are a little too comfortable in their roles so maybe its time for some more healthy scratches and some callups. i know were in a tight cap situation but there needs to be some sort of shakeup even if it means a trade.

i normally dont complain too much about the refs...but wow...horrific.

at least in 03 the year of enstrom we got quincey, howard and oulahen so it wasnt all bad. as for edler i very often laugh at my canucks fan friends for jumping the gun and saying the wings blew it because we got franzen. p.s. for those who dont remember, hakkan andersson didnt want to drive like 6 hours to see edler if he wasnt going to dress so he made an uncharacteristic mistake and called the coach to ask and the coach promptly called every other scout to tell them the wings' super scout was interested.

sorry pal but ive played hockey since i was 3, and i understand the role of an enforcer but if youre willing to give your tickets away because we dont have a mediocre fighter like mccarty on the team? please.

if you still tell people that you love hockey when really its just the fighting that makes you watch...PICK A NEW TEAM TO CHEER FOR. i suggest the ducks, the flyers...maybe the flames? i've even taken the liberty of finding you a new website to post on. its called Hockey Fights and there are a whole mess of like minded people who rarely look at the score of a game but dissect every second of fights like boxing matches. stop complaining about the lack of fighting, and maybe notice the abundance of winning instead. it takes an especially ungrateful fan to complain about EVERY move this team makes when they just won the stanley cup and play an exciting brand of hockey. hey i bet if we trade that "soft" zetterberg guy we could get godard from pittsburgh! oh who am i kidding, i guess it was just some wishful thinking on my part. its a shame though, it would have solved all of those problems detroits been having.
