whats wrong with Blue?! its delicious.

thats pretty interesting but then again if they gave detroit that many PPs they would never lose. our PP is running at almost 35% and that is completely insane. it was interesting what the commentators said during the second oilers game this week (i think it was craig simpson but it might have been daniels) when they talked about how detroit's PP seems to have interchangeable parts. they were talking about how kopecky was seamlessly thrown in front of the net and without homer and kronner the PP was still lethal. very impressive.

i love hockey saturdays, im gonna crack this case of Blue and drink and watch hockey all day. its no hockey day in canada (the holiest day of the year) but it will do just fine for now.

as cheli pointed out the other day i dont think its a secret the league is trying to keep. they say they want more goals and powerplays are clearly a way to increase scoring, especially with this stupid-ass new faceoff rule. i hate these late PPs too but its not a big secret, and if it is it just might be the worst kept secret going. link for cheli's views chelios on wdfn

okay fighting is part of hockey and as a former player i totally understand why. but seriously, go watch boxing, ufc or become a philly fan because i would way rather watch detroit skate circles around everyone else in the league and score highlight reel goals than dress 3 fighters who cant skate and have zero ability to actually play the game. if the wings were getting the s*** beaten out of them every night and people were destroying all our skill players with impunity i would be singing a different tune but that isnt happening and trust me its not because people are afraid of mac. fighting is an exciting part of the game for sure but there are so many people who call themselves hockey fans who are just watching the game to see fights. they immediately go to hockeyfights.com and engage in insanely long discussions about who won, who lost and so on and so forth. its a very small part of the game so enjoy it but quit over-analyzing it. as red wings fans we are blessed to have the best coaching staff and management in the league. they know what they are doing and i dont care how much mac fights (and look at my sig, i love the guy) cleary is a better player and much more valuable to the team. they know it too, TRUST THEM.

after i saw him go down and the look on lidstroms face i knew it was bad and after the first replay i knew he broke it. sucks for pisani because the guy has had some bad luck especially when he lost like a whole season with colitis or something.

i miss dom 2002....now not so much

okay rafalski hasnt been great but come on, lay off the guy. lidstrom hasnt exactly looked great lately either. he certainly isnt the frontrunner for the norris at this point.
