On a positive note, it seems that Jurco is in Detroit for good.

Tatar was a healthy scratch for numerous games at the beginning of last season and look how he turned out. Don't judge Weiss until he has played healthy for the Wings. He may succeed; he may fail. But it's too early to tell and speculating about Babcock's preseason mind games with any player is futile.

Have people forgotten that Fedorov played defense, scored 56 goals while winning the Selke, and often played with Shawn Burr on a TKO line shadowing the opposition's top players? Fedorov was a BEAST on both ends of the ice. He was very much a complete player.

But the Wings tried to sign many of those guys. Are you implying that the "Good move" was to sign an inept GM who cannot sign the players he targets? Makes no sense.

If by "anything can happen in the playoffs" you mean "Cindarella teams don't win the Stanley Cup," then you are correct. LA's continued success has demonstrated that the team wasn't the fluke so many claimed it was a couple of years ago. Name a genuine Cinderella that has won it all in the modern NHL.

You keep making this claim as if it's fact while ignoring the truth. Holland has offered numerous UFA's "overpayments" over the last few seasons. For various reasons the targeted players have signed elsewhere. This isn't a win for Holland. He wanted these UFA's. He offered them big (sometimes BIGGER) money. He has also signed Q and Clearly to overpriced contracts in the last month.
