You're "debating" with a fella who thinks every prospect and young player drafted is going to be elite and better than current all-stars. -

If you think cheap shots in hockey disqualify guys from playing on your team, you're gonna run out of player to root for. Yeah, the spear on DD was bad, but it wasn't Claude Lemieux-bad. (I know, waaaay before your time). Hell, look up Vladdy (because, again, before your time). Dude was a beast and most other teams would have called him a cheater/cheap shot artist. So many elbows! Good thing you missed the Bad Boys era. Wrong sport, I know. -

I assume this was at least in part directed at me. Yes, the Leafs future looks hopeful. (1) Babcock is a great coach. I certainly didn't advocate for a rookie coach from the AHL to take over the Red Wings. (2) Number one overall draft picks (not selected by Edmonton) usually perform very well in the NHL. (3) Having numerous additional high picks bodes well. (4) Stamkos hasn't signed with the Leafs, but people have to give the hometown an advantage. Remeber Parise & Suter? -

First, you're trying to move the goalposts. I said Toronto has a brighter potential because of high draft picks vs. Detroit's current prospects. Were Stamkos to base his opinion on potential, he and most everyone outside of Detroit would see Toronto as a better prospect. Second, the Blackhawks and Penguins say "hi" to your Edmonton cliche. Third, which of these opinions (your word) aren't true? -Larkin did fade as the season progressed -Mrazek has been inconsistent but brilliant at times -Mantha's stock has dropped since he started playing in the AHL -Sproul and Oullette are predicted to be middle pairing guys -Nyquist and Tatar are small and soft. Boston in the playoffs says hi. -AA has been called Helm with hands by many posters here Finally, it seems you don't like facts when they contradict your opinions. Not to be rude. -

Management and ownership doesn't think the streak is "stupid." Fans claiming otherwise are going to keep being disappointed. Realize it, accept it, and manage your expectations accordingly. -

Larkin: looks like a gem, but faded as the season progressed. Still best of the bunch. AA: Helm with hands. Does that make him Kris Draper then? Mantha: stock has plummeted since being drafted and playing with actual adults. Mrazek: inconsistent though young and has shown flashes of brilliance. Defensive prospects: all projected to be middle to bottom pairing guys. Nyquist and Tatar: Soft, small complimentary scorers. Yes, Toronto having the first overall pick and a bevy of high picks for the next couple of years is more enticing than the Wings' prospects and average young players. -

Do people honestly think Stamkos will sign with Detroit? If so, what the hell for? He's basically from Toronto which, if folks take off their homer glasses, is on the rise. The Leafs have a great coach and lots of high picks in their future. Another option would be Buffalo. It's not terribly far from Toronto and is also on the rise. All Detroit can offer is similar proximity to Toronto and, aside from Larkin, a bunch of middling prospects and picks. -

Ownership shows Support for Kenny Holland

Fired, promoted, secretly shipped to Siberia--whatever. Holland isn't going anywhere until the Streak ends. I'm not saying I agree or that it's best for the club. It's just reality. -
Ownership shows Support for Kenny Holland

Ken Holland will not be fired at least until after the Steak is broken. -
Holland has intentionally sought to undermine the confidence of lifetime fans, especially younger fans. You heard it here, folks. "Lifetime fans of the organization – especially those of younger generations – no longer have confidence in the team. It’s clear that this is exactly what Holland intended"

"Lifetime fans of the organization – especially those of younger generations – no longer have confidence in the team. It’s clear that this is exactly what Holland intended" A statement like this need not be refuted. It needs to be ridiculed.

Agreed. The site is amateur at best, which surprises me. The Lions' version (Pride of Detroit) of the Superbowl Network hub is superior in every way. (Too bad the team isn't).
