Which would ownership and management prefer? (A) Make the playoffs, earn millions of dollars in playoff revenue even for a first round loss, and keep the Streak alive. -or- (B) Miss the playoffs, end the Streak, and move up 4-6 spots in the draft. Anyone who thinks the Wings do not prefer option (A) needs to reevaluate.

I don't know that I don't *know* that he will look different but I would like to see if coaching, system, teammates, and basically being the only bigger guy on the team with actual toughness/grit make a difference. A 10-game look couldn't hurt.

Before Blash, Babcock had been scratching Kindl regularly. An OT goal in November did nothing to increase his value. Dude has been a marginal player for years. His best, I think, was the shortened season. I thought Kindl played well that year and in the playoffs, was hoping he had turned a corner. Oh, well. Good luck, Kindl.

How would you know, you were in diapers back then. On a serious note, I just get tired of people (not you) blaming the lack of a salary cap on the Wings' past success. Yzerman, Fedorov, Lidstrom, Konstantinov, the Grind Line -- these core players were cultivated by the team, not mercenaries bought in to win a championship. The Wings became a winner because they sucked in the 80's and drafted well into the early 90's. Even Shanny coming to Detroit was the result of a 1st round pick. -

The 95 team was a disaster against the Devils and the whole city was complaining of too much Bob Errey. Tiny fast Wings couldn't compete with the punishment of Scott Stevens et al. There were more changes made to the team after 95 than you're crediting. -
