I think I saw somewhere that Ericsson's injury isn't healing up like they thought it would. I wonder with the news that we're looking to add 1, maybe 2 defensemen through free agency, if they're expecting the possibility of Kronwall and Ericsson on LTIR to start the season.

I understand what you're saying, and I'm frustrated as well, but I also didn't have a chubby for Vilardi to start. He said they were going to concentrate on centers and defense... they got a big center who was ranked anywhere from 5-15, so I'm failing to see why the sky is necessarily falling. Annoyed, sure, but 16 teams passed on Vilardi so maybe something was up with him that we didn't know about.

Pulkinnen was also a very solid pure goal scorer... haha.

It just takes a simple search of his stats to understand he's not that good. He had one good season with 33 points in 14/15. Other than that, he's never broken 26 points and was a -21 last season. He also has never, not one time, played a full season. The only way this move makes sense is if we are moving Ericsson out and replacing him with Hamhock.

Please God, do not let us give away assets for Travis Hamonic.... he's not that good, I'd rather we go get Brendan Smith back. That's saying a lot because I was happy we moved him.

This guy could be exactly what we are looking for and will be far more NHL ready than any prospect this draft. Yep, and the thing is, you gotta give to get. Exactly, it's something we've been sorely missing since the Lidstrom and Rafalski days. Green tries, but I feel like the coaches hinder him a little bit. Kronwall is no longer an offensive threat, too. Outside of that, we don't really have a blue line that provides much more than outlet passes. We need those point guys who can actually produce.

I think I heard somewhere that Holland will continue to try and trade Mrazek, though. Arizona and Winnipeg are in need of a starter. In either case, it seems we are gung-ho about having Howard/Coreau being the tandem this season and moving forward. I do have reservations about Coreau's ability to stay consistent, based off of his play so far. I also have to wonder, if we are moving away from Mrazek, will our goalie coach also change?
