NHL Draft 2014: Rounds 2-7 **MOD WARNING POST 51**
SwedeLundin77 replied to Datsyukian-Deke's topic in General
The sad thing is that things haven't had a chance to go any way since the free agency period is still 3 days away. I mean, Holland has already done his due diligence and met with the Agents of Niskanen and Boyle, plus unnamed other/s. He's doing what he's supposed to at this point, so why don't we wait until a little down the line to start throwing tantrums, right? Also, last off-season, he arguably made two solid moves getting Weiss and Alfie. Weiss had a bad year with injuries, and Alfie was a solid addition. -

NHL Draft 2014: Rounds 2-7 **MOD WARNING POST 51**

Holy geeze, relax. We haven't even hit Free Agency yet.... trades are still possible. He set meetings up with Niskanen, Boyle, and an unnamed forward. He can't sign anyone until Tuesday. Why don't we wait until later in the summer to make judgements on how the upcoming season may look. It's laughable how worked up some people get. -
Hence, their placement and possible discussion under the Trade Rumors section.

Shush up! You're basing that off of the opinion of a stranger.... think for yourself, research.
-
Seems like a solid pick that could have gone much sooner.... there were other options to pick, of course, but this kids seems like a real leader and hard working player in the ilk of Helm with scoring prowess. Tatar/Nyquist - Larkin - Mantha.... wooo!
-
Either trading down or trading for Myers or Yandle... ha
-
Fabbri, McCann, Tuch, Milano, Larkin, DeAngelo
-
What about DeAngelo?
-
Hornqvist?
-
son of a.... Neal to Nashville.

I think Boyle has already publicly stated that he would like 2 years and that he feels he can really provide his A game for at least 2 more years, and then he'll see where he's at after. So I don't think Boyle is asking for more than 2. I would like to get Boyle, but I'm sure someone may want to pay him more than he is actually worth at this point in his career.

Kane and Toews both asking for $12M per year
SwedeLundin77 replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
The alternative is them, as "team" players, not handcuffing their team and not asking for a ludicrous amount of money. It's not about the Hawks, of course they won't let them walk, but the onus lies with the player and agent. -
Kane and Toews both asking for $12M per year
SwedeLundin77 replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
I get that if you can make more money, then you should try and make more money, but they are complete morons if they are honestly asking for 12 million a season each. No matter the cap, this will handcuff their team and, in the end, make them less competitive than they can be. So, I guess what I'm saying is, I hope Chicago is foolish enough to give them what they're asking for. -
Doubt Pittsburgh does a deal with the Wings.... Also, I'm pretty sure other teams have much better packages to throw at them.

Alfie informs Wings he wants to return
SwedeLundin77 replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
Uhhh.... Jagr is one that immediately comes to mind. -
If this is a move that is made, I'm only mad about it if they don't go out and get a sniper as well.... that's the only way it works in my mind. What sniper? Not sure.

Dan Boyle's rights traded to the Islanders…..
SwedeLundin77 replied to wings4thecup06's topic in General
Shame, I could have seen him as a solid 1-2 year stop-gap and mentor for the younger guys to mature under. Than once he is done, the younger guys are ready for a bigger piece of the action. I guess he could still make his way here, could be payback for Nabokov. -
I could see us having interest in all three of them, although I personally don't want anything to do with Marchand, he's a whiny spaz. Of course I feel if we were to make a run for Spezza, we'd need to trade them a center to off-set receiving another center.... Weiss? Kessler can at least play the RW.
-
I think they need to heavily pursue him for an assistant spot. At least that way, if Babcock does move on soon, we have two options to fill the vacant spot already in the organization (Bylsma & Blashill). Also, I agree with some that Bylsma might help the offense out, which we need in all areas.

The price tag will still be too high, unless they are willing to take Franzen as the main piece.

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/buf130702.html Holland and Regier are tight, so hopefully we can make something work with this. Tatar and Tootoo for Vanek... as a starting point, I know we'd probably need to part with more than that.
-
Cleary should not be back so Alfie should have no conflict in getting 11.

signed Brendan Smith signs 2-year, $2.525m contract with Red Wings
SwedeLundin77 replied to Matt's topic in General
Good deal, he should round out in that span and become a solid top 4 d-man who can put up 40+ points and quarterback the powerplay. -
Okay... hopefully the Devils sign Cleary now... haha. Seriously though, they'll probably be looking at a guy like Brunner to help fill the void.
