    Wings Possible Trades... Foreseen...

Osgood=Swiss Cheese. He could not stop a slow moving Beach Ball from the Blueline. He is the definition of LOUSY. Prove me wrong. See previous post: Be a fan of the Wings... not a goalie. He needs to go!!!

    Wings Possible Trades... Foreseen...

Here's my trade proposal: Put Osgood on waivers. Then mock him for his terrible play in the minors until he decides to retire. Send Williams/Lang to Washington for Witt and a 2nd rounder. Call up McDonald Call up Hudler Call up Filpula Call up Kopecky Trade Draper and Maltby to Ottawa for Chara or Redden.

    Trade Osgood?

I would just put him on waivers. No team would possibly part with a whole bag of pucks for Mr. Swiss Cheese. Those who feel he was a big part of the 97-98 cup are just ding-bats. The defense carried him to the cup. Go ahead Osgood fans, have a field day with this one. I said to myself that if the Minnasota game goes like the Dallas 6-3 game, which it almost did, I would raise the money myself to buy out that bonehead's contract. Team first, Ozzy last. Put that idiot on waivers. OZZY

What prospects will make the Wings Next year?

Lidstrom is still top 4 in the NHL, no doubt. But, we'd be lying to ourselves if we didn,t admit that he has lost a step. This year, I am seriously impressed with Chelios's 44 year old play than Lidstrom's. I realize there is a huge difference in ice-time. However, Chelios has been absolutely awesome on the penalty kill. Lidstroms +/- would go up if people started scoring in front of him. Which now leads me to this point: Lids is well overpaid. That money should be dropped by about 3 mil. Do you have any idea how good a d-man we could pick up for 3 million? Even a scoring forward so Lids +/- went up? That money could be put to better use. I truly feel that we have more "super-gems" waiting in the wings than ever. We knew Zetts was going to be good, and I think we expect the same from Grigs. But I feel we have some North American talent that is seriously crafty: Helm/McGrath/Haskins. These guys may be the Carter/Richards of the Wings shortly. As far as Czechs/Sweedes/Finns, remember these names: Ryno/Ritola/Hudler/Fillpula/Kopecky. There are some Datsyuk-esque talent in there sprinkled with some power-forward fairy dust. Mark my words, in 2-3 years, they'll be talking about the Wings the same way we talk about Ottawa. Young, fast and skilled.

My bad on Grigs. Secondly, as valuable as Lids is, unless his 35-36 year-old fanny can accept a 4-4.5 mil. single year contract without a no-trade clause, he is being overpaid. So, let's lose him, and get a Redden/Chara (one will not be signed by Ottawa next year I believe) and another high-end d-man.

    My Speculation: Wash/Buff/NJ

After much debate here and throughout the NHL "rumor-mills," here is my speculation: Robert Lang to: NJ-Scott Gomez (I truly believe Gomez would prosper here in Detroit) also, by picking Molgilny off of waivers (on the way up) he automatically sheds 50% of his contract. A possible 2 for 1 type of deal. Lang/Osgood to: Buff-Biron (They are looking for a scoring up the middle, we could use a great goaltender) Lang/Lilja/Osgood to: Wash-Witt/Kolzig/2nd round pick (self explanatory). Lang to: Chicago-Tyler Arneson or Bell. The ultimate long range shot: Lang/Osgood/2nd rounder to: Florida-Luongo

What prospects will make the Wings Next year?

I wish: FWDs IN: Grigs, Hudler, Fillpula, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Shanahan, Franzen, Cleary, Holmstrom, Williams, Kopecky, and Jamtin. DEFs IN: Schnieder, Kronwall, Lebda, Kolasau, annd 2 free agents. GOALs IN: Legace and Liv. AHL IN: McGrath, Kindl and Blatak OUT: Yzerman, Lang, Lidstrom, Osgood, Wooley, Rivers, Draper, Maltby. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Williams Shanahan-Grigs-Holmstrom Cleary-Franzen-Jamtin Fillpula-Hudler-Kopecky Schnieder-Free Agent Kronwall-Free Agent Lebda-Kolasau Legace-Liv Then wait a year for this mix-mash to gel together.

1/8 GDT: Detroit Red Wings Vs. Dallas Stars

HAHAHAHHA. I work with Nuclear Weapons. I have tons of decisions to make every day.... for 16 years I've made the "right" decisions. The Cold war is over now isn't it??? Ozzie needs the BOOT!!!

1/8 GDT: Detroit Red Wings Vs. Dallas Stars

Why is it idiotic. I think it's more idiotic that you would defend Osgood after his performance THIS WHOLE YEAR. I'm thinking about next year already. Howard needs the experience and Osgood needs the boot.... idiot.

1/8 GDT: Detroit Red Wings Vs. Dallas Stars

No. On the contrary kid, Keeping the dominator in was brilliant, and all the years of watching Buffalo, I knew what hasek was capable of after a tough night. Ozzie rode Vernon's coat tails into the #1 spot. The 98' team was defensively better than the 2002 team. Ozzie was lucky. My point is that a #1 goalie is just that.. a #1. A guy who can make the big saves. Ozzie needs to go and we all know it's for the better of the team.. If Babcock is as tough as everyone says, Ozzie will be in GR soon with Howard up as our back-up.

Ozzie performed like a Grade A turd-burgler. I say we ship him off to siberia with Lang for an 8 yr. old figure skater and a bag of pucks.

Are you kidding me???? It took 3 different goalies to get 3 different cups. It's great to see such Ozzie loyalists, however, Ozzie plays with donkey balls now. This game really was his fault.

Lang, Osgood and Hudler for Luongo and a pick.

Honestly though, this game was lost due to Osgood's horrible goaltending and Lang's huge amount of lumbering ice time. Lang-Datsyuk-Shannahan??? Slow slower and slowest???

    Lang on the block?

I was on XM SAT radio tonight talking about this very thing. The idea that the salary cap is going to go up next season might entice a small market team in taking him. The idea that we could free up that money and gain a descent guy would be awesome. Don't be suprised if the Caps take him back in return for Witt. This trade would benefit both teams. The Caps have the cap room, and Detroit needs a tough blue liner. Another option is to the Rangers. The only thing is, I would hate to get Poti in return. Tutyn would be the better return. I could see NY trying to put Lang-Jagr back together. I think Lang would return to his previous form. Good line... Jagr-Lang-Prucha. There is also an outside chance that Lang could be bait to obtain a high-end goalie. Legace is doing fine, but look at our history and goalies. Fischer's salary is gone, Lang's would be gone and the idea he may be packaged with a guy like Mowers or Hudler.... would free up a descent amount of cash. What do you think?

    Who's Andy Delmore,

He's a good replacement for Dandy. I believe Delmore started as a forward as well.

If we had to trade Dats and Zett

Dats and Zett are RFA's. Look at the Sabre's RFA's: Maxim Afinogenov, Milan Bartovic, Martin Biron, Daniel Briere, Brian Campbell, Tim Connolly, J.P. Dumont, Paul Gaustad, Mike Grier, Jochen Hecht, Jeff Jillson, Ales Kotalik, Jay McKee, Sean McMorrow, Ryan Miller, Jason Pominville, Michael Ryan, Henrik Tallinder. Is there a good trade in there?
