Why is officiating always so Shi***** in the nhl?! This has been the worst season of refs that I have seen and we are not even 20 games in !!! I am sick of refs having an input in games based on their bad calls and letting CLEAR penalties go.

I thought it was automatic no goal with feet in the crease? Or is that only against the Red Wings? Sloppy game but I will take the 1 point thank god we play at home Friday. We seem much better at home.

Can Babs PLEASE put Nyquist back with Tatar and Sheahan? They played so much better last game there was no reason to change that up. Franzen looks slow and keeps falling. Neither line has looked good tonight so CHANGE IT

They started off slow but the last half of the period the wings picked it up and controlled things. Pav especially looks really good tonight again. Goose looks good too. Everyone else started to pick it up so hopefully it carries over into the 2nd and 3rd periods.

The biggest problem is Danny D is hesitating too much at the point. He never knows when to shoot or pass it and when he does shoot, he doesn't get enough on it and it gets blocked. I really wish Babs would just give Smith a chance on that 2nd PP unit. I truly think it would make a huge difference.

Is it just me or does it seem like the Wings always allow a guy on the right side to take the puck to the net for a good scoring chance against us? The D literally cuts back right to the middle and gives away a ton of room. Seems it happens every game.

I don't like inserting Franzen into the 2nd line with Nyquist. The kid line FINALLY had a really dominant game last game- Sheahan, Tatar and Nyquist dominated most of their shifts and generated tons of chances. Goose and Tats both scored. I have been calling for Babs to play Tats and Goose together and he finally did and they had a great game. Now, he chances it up and puts Franzen up there and puts the original kid line together that has not worked yet this year. We will see how it goes, but I would rather see Franzen play on the 3rd line with Helm and Jurco.

Great win by the Wings. They were flying in the 1st, began to step back too much in the 2nd, paid for it at the start of the 3rd. But, they got through it, worked hard and started taking over the game again and controlled the last 15 or so minutes of the game. Our best players were the best players on the ice. Pav and Hank just work soooooo well together. When they are able to play together I don't care what anyone says, they are the best line in hockey. The problem is making them continue to be able to work together. The kid line was fantastic tonight. By far their best game of the season. Keep them together. Gus and Tats have chemistry together that is working. One thing is for sure. LA is a Very good team. They were missing key players and still battled hard and pushed the Wings for a bit there. Having said that, I really liked the way the Red Wings played against a great team. I don;t know where Franzen comes in because I do not want the top 2 lines touched and I like the 3rd line as well. Gotta love when you have tough decisions like that.

Not a well played game tonight, but the leaders stepped up and the team started skating in the 3rd and were much better. Babs hopefully keeps these lines moving forward because things are getting done when Pav and Hank are together and the kids even started skating better too. The highlight of thegame for me? Brendan Smith on the PP! Did anyone else notice that Smitty shot the puck 3 or 4 times in that short amount of time? That is what our PP is lacking and that is what Smith can bring the PP so PLAY HIM!

I think we should all put money together to find some scientist to develop a way to clone Nick Lidstrom for us because I really miss knowing he is back there.

I love pav but he is flat out not playing good enough. I don't know if he is still getting up to game speed or what, but he does not seem to be that engaged right now. And the PP is sooooo frustrating to watch! No one knows when to shoot. Pav has the puck and everyone is just standing there waiting for something to happen. It is basic stuff to know to keep your feet moving all 5 guys. They better come out with much better effort in the 3rd because the effort so far has been unacceptable.

That is the problem. Our 3rd and 4th lines become checking lines. That is why I don't get why Weiss is not playing. He better be playing soon because we need offence and we have not even given him a chance yet. I would think this would be much better by the time Weiss and Franzen are playing: Z- Pav- Jurco Tatar- Weiss- Nyquist Nestrasal- Sheahan- Franzen Glendening- Helm- Abby I just don't get why Babs is so hard headed sometimes

The Red Wings have had so many goals called off over the years it is not even funny. And I would not mind if most of them were the wrong call. We should be up 1-0. But as it is, we are tied despite not playing very well. Babs needs to change the lines. They simply are not working. I am sick of Abby on the top 6. And the kids need a foot in their rear ends to get them going. In the meantime, it is time to play Pav and Hank together. Z- Pav- Jurco Tatar- Sheahan- Nyquist Abby- Helm- Nestrasil 4th line. Jurco needs to get working and I like him with Pav and Hank because he is a bigger body who can be strong on the puck. I think giving him a chance with the big guns will help. Nyquist and Tatar have played well together in the past and frankly I just don't think the kid line is doing enough to keep it completely together right now so make that minor change. On the PP. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD USE BRENDAN SMITH!!!!

i am SICK of the officiating in the nhl. Every single game there is some sort of significant mistake made by the refs. We have already had points stolen from us against the Ducks and Montreal, and now another goal called off here for complete BS! Unacceptable!

No they didn't. A lot of their momentum came from bad calls that gave them PP's. Somehow, they got more of those then us, despite us outplaying them hugely. And that call on Anderson for the faceoff violation was bad because he used his stick to push the puck back, not his hand. And the call on Kronner was bad because they had a hold of one another and Philly got away with that all game. We got screwed straight up against the Ducks and the Habs by the refs, and tonight the refs played too much of a role in the outcome of this game. Then, in the dying minutes, our best player has his stick slashed out of his hand, and it goes unnoticed? Then seconds later, a clear tripping call that goes unnoticed? I am sick and tired of there being no accountability to refs in this league.

We deserved to win this game and we are a far better team then Philly. Then benefited from the refs giving them a bunch of PP's and letting them get away with tons of crap. I still don't think Helm belongs on a scoring line he just does not have the IQ he is a different player and takes away chemistry on that line. I would love to see Jurco play with Pav and Tats. Kindl and Quincy in particular had very bad games on the D side of things. I thought they were far too weak on pucks and their passing was awful. Other then that, I think we deserved the win. No reason to be overly mad. We played well and it is only a matter of time until the kids start scoring.

These refs have had a huge impact on this game. How the eff does a team that gets dominated not only get more powerplays, but also get away with a ton of crap?! They got away with at least 3 penalties in that last sequence alone!

I would keep Tats with Dats. Dats is still finding his legs as well. Give them time to develop chemistry. If all we do is change lines, they will never develop chemistry. Trust me when I say they will find their game sooner than later and when they do, more and more goals will come.

It is a joke that the Flyers have the same amount of PP's as we do, despite the fact that we have DOMINATED this game in regards to puck possession. In saying that, our pp still sucks. No one wants to shoot. Helm just doesn't know what to do on the PP and I really don't like the whole 1 dman thing... it just isn't working. We deserve these 2 points because we are playing far better than Philly so hopefully the Wings find a way to get it done in the 3rd.

Good first period start on the road for the Wings. Kindl really bugs me, he is far too soft on the puck. Quincy also needs to learn how to make a proper outlet pass. Overall though, it was a good period and a good effort by the wings. the PK looks great still and our PP looked better. It moved the puck well and generated chances. We need to shoot the puck more though, but it will come.

Our pp sucks and we continue to not play smith on it for some unknown reason

They seemed to be switching a lot. At the start Smith was with Kronner, then Ericsson was with Kindl and DD was with Quincy. Hard to say. They changed around frequently. The big thing tonight was how quick the Wings transition was. Forwards came back and made it really easy for the D to move the puck up and out via passing rather then dumping it out like last year. Our team is playing with much more structure, speed and confidence AS A UNIT compared to last year. I really like what I am seeing. On a side note, where are all the people who wanted to vote Zetty off the island the other night? Those of us who have faith told you not to worry about Hank. And lastly, that Nyquist guy is pretty good! Haha. Hopefully the boys can get it done tomorrow night and it will be a HUGE weekend!

My NHL gamecenter says the game is being blacked out for me tonight despite the fact that I was able to watch the season opener last week just fine. The game is on FSN so I should have no issues watching it since I am from Europe?! I HATE gamecenter!

A couple things. We were playing a desperate Boston team that simply wanted the win more than we did tonight. We battled hard and it was ugly but at least we got a point out of it. 1-1-1 isn't a bad way to start the season having played against the best 2 teams from last season (without even having our best player)! - Z had an offffffff night. He is human, get over it. He is a stand up guy he will be the first to admit it and he will get better, no worries there - Franzen was back to playing the role of Casper - Jimmy had a great game and is the only reason we got a point. He needs to work on breakaway though because I find what he does too often is just go down on his stomach and hopes the puck hits him - If I am the coach and I get a 4 on 3 PP to end the game on, I put the players that got us there on the ice... the guys who have it going tonight. I would go Z (you can't not put him on the ice come on), Nyquist and Tatar out there with Kronner or Danny D. Nyquist and Tatar NEEDED to be out there because they are the ones who have had tons of energy and actually generating chances and scoring goals. I am SICK of Franzen just being given ice time for no reason. All in all I am happy with the point and I know Z will be far better then that against the Laughs on the weekend.
