YES!! Too bad Babs waited until now to take Kindl out. I would have made that switch back in the regular season!

He does have a reasonable contract cap hit wise. Obviously the length sucks, but cap hit wise it is not too bad. So before just buying him out, I would try to make up a package of him and w.e else to make a trade to get something, like maybe Stewart from Buffalo. If there are no takers, then by all means yes buy him out.

Win today and we head back to the Joe with momentum and a chance to force game 7. One game at a time. LETS GO WINGS!

I hate franzen as much as anyone but I don't recall babs saying anything specific about him. I would buy him out and try to sign Marian gaborick to a reasonable contract. Gaborick does have a tendency to get hurt sometimes but he plays a very similar way to hossa and can sure score goals. I say sign gaborick and danny Boyle this off season and we have a much better team.

He had a full practice today and said he felt good and would talk to team doctors about possibly playing tomorrow. Regardless if he plays tomorrow or not, if he is that close to playing, he will by all accounts be playing by game 5 at the latest which is hugeeeeee.

I disagree we cannot trade goose or Tatar tot after seeing how great they were this year. We need to get rid of sammy, cleary, Bert, Quincy and kindl in the offseason. Then I would like to form some sort of trade for Chris Stewart without giving up goose or Tatar tot. Also I would try to sign danny Boyle which would make our top 4 D much better and more improved.

Honestly, it seems like the past couple years, the playoffs intros have been getting worse and worse. Like the intro tonight felt like a regular season intro... didn't seem special like the ones that we used to have. It just honestly did not feel like a playoff game tonight. Us in the crowd obvs had nothing to cheer about, but even besides that, I think the olympia entertainment needs to do a better job for playoffs next year. Also, the organ sucks and is super annoying so I hope that is gone for game 4. And my biggest issue was the glow sticks instead of towels. The glow sticks looked cool for 3 minutes and then that was it. It should be towels at each game in the playoffs. I was just overall really disappointed tonight and it all had an impact on the crowd.

I was at the game tonight and the reason we lost is simple. Too many people took the night off. Even pavel had an off night. Our passing was off, no one was moving their feet, no one supported each other in the offensive zone and always gave boston an easy out, we were far too loose defensively, made bad line changes and just all around lacked energy. From the players to the coaches, the Red Wings were simply not prepared for this game. There is no one person to blame for this loss, but rather the group as a whole. This game really defines the idea that you win games as a team and you lose games as a team and, tonight, we lost this game as a team. Mike Babcock for the first time in a while, was completely out coached tonight. We started game 2 with his original lines, went down 2-0 and he switched the lines up and the Wings woke up and started to compete. So what does he do? Starts game 3 with his original lines again and we go down 2-0 and lack energy. That is on Babcock for not knowing when to give up on his awful lines. Franzen NEVER EVER EVER works with Pav ever. I never want to see that again. Not only that, but the kids have been far too quiet so far in this series and are lacking their usual energy. I think it is time to COMPLETELY change the lines for game 4, which is a must win game. I thought the best player on the ice for us was Brendan Smith, by far! He was skating magically tonight and was one of our few players that had energy each shift. Yet, the only Dman to play less then him was Lashoff! That is a joke. Babcock needs to wake up and stop playing freakin Kindl so much as he is by far our worst player almost every game. I want to see more Smith and less Kindl, and Smith on the PP as well! Also, we have scored 2 goals in 3 games. We have no one going to the net and everyone seems to be timid out there. I say Abby is absolutely not working well on Pav's line so we need to bring in Bert. Say what you want about Bert, but he plays well for us in the playoffs. He is a big body, always uses his size well when playing with Pav, isn;t afraid to go to the net and the dirty areas. I think we absolutely need to play him with Pav. Here are the lines I would go with for game 4: Bertuzzi- Datsyuk- Tatar (Tatar has looked way too off so far, putting him with Pav will do wonders and will get both him and pav going along with bert) Franzen- Legwand- Nyquist (This is when Nyquist was at his best, so go back to it. Also, makes no sense for Legwand to be on the 4th line, this gives us a much more consistent 2nd line) Jurco- Sheahan- Alfredsson (Solid 3rd line along with the veteran Alfie to chip in with some scoring) Glendening- Helm- Miller/ Abby (solid 4th line) PP1: Bertuzzi- Datsyuk- Tatar (Tatar is a SHOOTER and thus makes sense to play him with Pav) Alfie- Kronners (No reason why Alfie was ever taken off the 1st pp unit) PP2: Franzen/Jurco- Legwand- Nyquist Dekeyser- Smith (NO MORE KINDL. Smith has soooooooooooo much more talent it is not even funny) I think this would give the red wings the best chance against the bruins in game 4. We are not out of it as you can never say never with this years Red Wings team. Babs just needs to make the right changes moving forward.

Would someone please explain to me why KINDL continues to get powerplay time instead of Brendan Smith?! More then ever I do not understand this. Smith is playing his best hockey as a Red Wing, is playing at a MUCH HIGHER level then Kindl, but yet Kindl is somehow rewarded with powerplay time over Smith again. All Kindl does is make awful passes, and get his shot blocked every two seconds. Our 2nd pp unit would be much better with smith out there instead of Kindl.

Exactly my point lol. I am bringing one of my old red wings playoffs towels to waive around tonight as I cannot stand those glow sticks lol! Hopefully, whether we have a towel in our hand or a glow stick, we will be doing lots of cheering tonight!

That is soooooo lame. Like no one over the age of 10 likes glow sticks!! They look cool for the intro that's it. Nothing looks better then freakin towels I hate whoever's idea it is to use these dumb glow sticks. They better have towels for game 4.

Hoping for towels tonight not the stupid glow sticks! Towels are good luck and I expect the wings will be dominant with their speed tn. Also no post whistle crap. Go wings!

We do not need to make roster changes, but Franzen needs to get the hell away from Pav! Babs needs to do a better job of getting the most of of certain players. What I mean by that is Alfie can produce for us when he is given a scoring line, so since Franzen does crap all, demote him already. Lets see some changes. Nyquist- Datsyuk- Jurco Tatar- Sheahan- Alfredsson Franzen- Legwand- Abby Glendening- Helm- Miller I think Pav is playing really well and would benefit from the youth with him. Nyquist and even the kid line has been quiet so far, so maybe these changes will spark things. Nyquist needs to stay with pav and I think Jurco adds a nice physical element to the line and I like adding the veteran Alfie to play with the kid line and then the 3rd line still has offensive skill and then the 4th line is amazing shut down. Also, what in the name of GOD is it going to take for Babcock to play BRENDAN SMITH ON THE PP!!!!!!!!!!!! Nyquist- Datsyuk- Franzen Alfie- Kronners (The 1st unit has sucked since Babs decided for no reason to NOT have a right handed Alfie out there) Jurco- Sheahan- Tatar Dekeyser- Smith

Right but he also said he isn't ruling out game 6 or 7 so I guess we will have to see but I think he is aiming for late this series.

Zetty himself is trying for game 6 or 7 so til I hear otherwise I will continue to hope. As for who sits when zetty is back, I say it should be franzen assuming he continues to do nothing. Glendening has a role that he fulfills very well each game. Jurco is a constant contributed and has played well on any line he is on and competes. FranZen has done nothing and unless that changes he deserves to sit.

Pav had his best game with nyqust against the blues. Nyquist had many scoring chances as well. If you wanna beat Boston we aren't gonna do it unless pav is our best player.

I HATE franzen playing with pav! He is sooooo slow and gives absolutely no effort. Nyquist and pav form a much more speedy and skill line and it is speed that we need on every line to beat the bruins. Hope babs plays the lines from yesterday tomorrow.

This is very positive for the wings. The longer layoff gives more rest for our vets and most importantly more time for Hank to be ready. Now instead of him returning in round 2 we will likely see him in game 6

Great way to finish the season! On a quick side note, I found it halarious that some dumb st. louis fans were getting sarcastic with Miller. He way by far their best player this game and was not the reason they lost at all. All that is going to do is make him not want to stay with them after this season. Anyways, what a solid game by the Wings. Pavel was the best player on the ice in all regards, which was nice to see as we head into Boston. It is no coincidence that he finally loooks like himself and even Abby gets going with Franzen not being on their line. Why did they get going? Franzen was not there to slow them down. Nyquist adds a nice speed element to that line and I really hope Babs keeps that line together against Boston and throws Franzen on the 3rd line.

I am loving these kids. Even more I love that I call them kids even though they are my age haha. But honestly the forwards look so much better without Franzen floating around out there. Pav especially looks like he is flying out there. One thing I hope does not continue is Pav playing the Point on the PP (I assume thats just cuz Alfie is out today). What a 2 periods by the new Dominator. What a shot by Shanahan oops I mean Sheahan. HE loves to shoot from that spot... I bet he has scored 3 or 4 goals from that spot this year. Keep it up boys!

Great first period by the wings despite us missing key guys and the blues as well. A couple things. I think lashoff is having a better game today since he is playing less with kindl. I think Sproul and oulette look primed and ready to go and should over kindl. However, most importantly, Pavel datsyuk was the best player on the ice. He was all over the place generating chances, has good speed and his dekes. He looks great with Nyquist so babs should keep franzen away from pav!!!
