I agree, I would keep the 2nd line together until they cool off. But once they do, I would like to see Pavs and Hank reunited, they were just playing so well together and now with Nyquist up we can spread the offense well (when Alfie and Weiss are back) Zetty- Pavs- Bert Franzen- Weiss- Alfie Nyquist-Helm-Tatar Miller-Anderson- Abby

Not that Howard has been the reason for us losing, but with Monster getting the win, I would like to see him start Saturday against the Sens. Keep rolling the hot hand and create some competition.

I don't get when re-signing Cleary did for this team.

After reading the comments today, if They send Nyquist down after the game tonight, then they should both be fired. That is just ridiculous. There is absolutely no reason to send him down after one game, I don't care about the waiver eligibility... get rid of Cleary, the guy who supposedly took a discount to stay here, despite the fact that he isn't worth loose change that I could find on the street. Cleary provides NOTHING to this team and seeing him on the top line with Pavs tonight is sickening and if the cherry on top of that is nyquist getting sent back down after tonight, then Kenny should be fired.

When the team is healthy I would like to try out: Z- Dats- Bert Franzen- Weiss- Alfie (Lets give it another chance I think it still has potential) Nyquist-Helm- Tatar (I have been waiting for this 3rd line to be together forever... this really has the potential to be the best 3rd line in the league) Miller-Anderson-Abby - That means, bye bye Cleary and bye bye Sammy - This is the best lineup that the Wings will have this season unless we trade for a veteran dman which I think would really really help solidy the back end. Maybe we should all come together and start a huge CLEARY SUCKS chant at all home games from now on until he is waived

Yah we have tons of skills in the young guys, but 3 years from now Babcock will probably still be playing effin Dan Cleary on the top line. I understand Kenny has made good moves for this team, but he has also made some dumb ones that are affecting us now such as Cleary and Sammy contracts. The main problem is Babcock. He is making all the wrong decisions this year. Continuing to not only play Cleary, but reward him with ice time and, somehow he now gets on the top line with #13! To add to that he has been out coached in almost every game. We lost 3 OT's in a row in the last minute of OT because Babcock failed to make sure to have Pavs, Hank or Kronners on the ice. Simply put, he isnt getting the job done.

We have Tom Renney who is a fantastic coach. I have been saying this for a year now, that Babcock needs to go. His message is lost, and his line combinations are just ridiculous. Looking today at the practice news to see that he has put Dan Cleary on the top line with Pavel is just a slap in the face to all of the other Red Wings players that have played far better then Cleary. Cleary does not even deserve a spot on this team, let alone the top line. Ken Holland didn't want to re-sign Cleary- - Babcock wanted it and look at how its working for you Babs. Kenny needs to send a message that this amount of losing is unacceptable. Unfortunately, he will never fire Babcock this year because of the Olympics. But this is just absolutely ridiculous.

I am not even mad that we continue to lose. I am mad that we continue to lose because Ken Holland and Mike Babcock willingly do not ice our best team. It is ridiculous that Cleary is still playing on this team and the best part is, Babcock promoted him to the top line. Then, right away on that line, Cleary takes a retarded penatly. BUT then in the last minute, Babcock has CLEARY on the ice?!?!?!? I am sorry but I am really starting to think that Babcock needs to go, I mean this is just ridiculous. And Holland is at blame to for re-signing Cleary and willingly playing Nyquist, who was one of our BEST PLAYOFFS performers last year, play in the minors. This team needs goals; secondary scoring. Yes getting Alfie and Weiss (I hope Weiss) back will help, but Nyquist would add so much more to this team then Cleary and Sammy. It is sickening to watch this I just cannot fathom why Babcock and Holland are not playing their best possible team.

Another game going by where every time Cleary is on the ice, nothing good happens. It is funny that Babs and Kenny know we need goals, but continue to play the plug Cleary over Nyquist.

Yah but since then, Weiss has went down, Franzen has went down and now Alfie has not played the last two games... so the Wings have been missing lots of different pieces at different times. The problem is Babcock is not using Smith properly at all. Instead of playing stupid Kindl on the 2nd PP, play Smith and Danny D. Danny D is a WAY better passer then Kindl, and every time he shoots the puck, it goes on net or he purposely shoots wide, much like Lidstrom. Kindl always ALWAYS has his shot blocked and makes very stupid plays. Smith has always been our offensive dman prospect, but Babcock has not given him any time on the PP at all in favor of Kindl and Quincy and Sammy!

Jimmy Howard needs to sit for a few games... he just is not cutting it for me. He is given another 2 goal lead to work with and again he blows it. And then he lets in another 5 hole breakaway goal in the shootout. He is not the reason we lost, but he is not playing as good as he needs to be and has lost way too many games in a row. Let him sit and watch, change things up and put Monster in. If Monster gets us the W tomorrow, keep on rolling with him.

Then you must have been one of the fans too busy buying beer during the game, because the 2nd line had a pretty good game generating chances. Franzen was competing hard all night, Alfie had quite a few good chances, and Helmer had a beauty of a move at the end of the game that almost led to a goal.

Jimmy hasn't been awful, but he hasn't been good either. As someone mentioned, he is 5-5-5 which just isn't good enough. We all know what he is capable of, but no reason we can't sit him for a game or two so that he can get back to his game. We have lost 4 in a row AGAIN, so I think its time for Babs to make a change in net. Lets have Monster start Friday against the Caps and if he gets us the W, no reason to take him out... afterall goalies work best with competition.

Why the hell would any of us hate him today? I love, and always will love Brendan Shanahan. He was a true hall of fame player and an honor for me to watch when I was just a young kid.

Cleary and Sammy I agree with for sure. But you CANNOT blame Kenny for Weiss. Before the season began, I think a large number of us were thrilled thinking that he would step up and be the 2nd line centerman that Fil has never been since 2008. Besides, I am still holding out my belief that Weiss will find his game.

Another overtime loss where Babcock fails to have Pavs or Hank out there in the near last minute and yet again we get scored on. Babcock is not doing a good job coaching this year, but it is not entirely his fault I mean look at what he had to ice tonight as the 2nd line. I was at the game, and I was very disgusted with the Wings play. Their turned the puck over a million times, could not receive passes, were unable to control pucks, and sustained little zone time. - Cleary is awful, there is no other way to describe him. He needs to go. I wonder how many games we need to lose before Kenny figures out a way to bring Nyquist up because we will be such a better team with him. - Howie had a good game, would like him to not get beat so easily on the 1st wrap around goal, but the smaller nets are a factor in that as well. If not for him, we don't make it to OT. - Pavs, Hank dominated again... they are the only two players for our team lately. - Babcock needs to give someone for Alfie to play with for crying out loud.

If that is the case, then Ken Holland will have no choice but to call up Nyqust so really this could be a blessing in disguise for us... Aflie has played center before so for the time being, he could again. Z-Pavs-Bert Nyquist-Alfie-Tatar Cleary-Anderson-Franzen (if he is better) or Abby Eaves-Helm- Miller

This. I believe this is the 4th time this season that we have given up a 2 goal lead. That is unaccptable considering we have only played less than 20 games. That ultimately falls on the goalie when it happens 4 times in said amount of games. Also, some blame needs to go to the coaches and players for not fixing the issue, but the bulk of it is on Jimmy when you have a 2-0 lead, you really should win the game,.

Yah Kronners has actually had a very solid season thus far... he had a bad game tonight, no need to jump the gun on him. If Babcock hadn't been an idiot and had had Kronners out there instead of Quincy in OT in the last minute, this discussion board would probably be all happy after watching a shootout victory (we would have won the shootout me thinks because Pavs and Bert were on fire tonight). You want to jump the gun on players, start with Cleary and Quincy... Those two are just awful and are not cutting it at all. Alfie was looking great, until Babs thru Cleary on his line. How many lines have we seen the last couple years that were doing good, until Cleary was put on the line. Hell, Cleary might be the only guy in the history of the Red Wings that played on a line with Dats and Hank that resulted in the line being broken up shortly after the season started because they would not produce. ANyone that plays with Cleary has trouble producing and that is a fact. Get this guy off our team already! Also, give Jimmy one more game Saturday night, if he can't get the job done, then it is time to give Monster a start.

I was against Jimmy his first 2 seasons here but he has really grown on me the last couple seasons. But here is the thing I have been telling my friends. Jimmy has never gotten us past the 2nd round, like it or not. He has a bad tendency to allow late minute goals (I wonder how many he has let in because it happens a LOT since he started to play for us). The fact is that he is a great goalie, but he seems to have trouble making the key saves at the key time in the dying minutes of games. In my opinion, if Jimmy can't prove to be capable for us we should strongly consider going after Henrik Lunquivst in the off season... imo he is the best goalie in the world, and God knows he knows how to make key saves at any given time in a game.

I am sorry but Mike Babcock is not doing a good coaching job this year. Just like the last overtime we lost in the last minute, WHY THE EFF would Pavs and Hank not be on the ice in the last minute... that is just awful coaching. It killed us last time, and it killed us again. They should ALWAYS be on the ice in the last minute. 3 of their goals came in the last minutes of the periods, that is just unacceptable. I know none of the goals were Jimmy's fault, but ever since he started playing as our starter I swear there are a ton of late minute goals against us in periods, and those are killers. He needs to find a way to make important saves at the dying minutes of periods. Lastly, the officiating this year is awful. How do the Wings not get a single powerplay again during a game?! The Red Wings are lucky to get more than 1 powerplay this season, despite the fact that Pavs and Hank are continuously hooked and held. This has to change... Babcock needs to let this be known that it is unacceptable. Now, back to Babcock, he has to fix these lines, no one is producing besides the big boys. Get Cleary the hell off of the 2nd line, he is awful, he is slow, he has no hockey IQ, he has NO PLACE on this team let alone the 2nd line!

Wings were tired at the end of a long 4 game trip, and the Jets were fired up. I think the refs helped by calling every little thing against the Wings, while letting the Jets get away with a LOT of holding especially against Pavs and Hank. Overall though, 6 out of 8 points is very good. - Weiss has some fantastic plays tonight and it is VERY clear that Cleary is slowing him down. There is absolutely no place for Cleary on this team. - Kindl or Quincy... I don't know who is worse. Kindl is awful defensively and is always giving the puck away. Quincy does not know how to defend a 1 on 1 play, he just lets the guy come as close as possible to the net to get a good shot off. - Kronners and Danny D are a fantastic pairing... that goal by Danny D reminds me of Captain Nick... I don't get why Babs does not use him on the 2nd unit rather than Kindl... Danny D has a better shot, is far more accurate, and has a much better hockey sense. - Howie was fantastic out there tonight. Overall a solid road trip by the Wings, now coming home for a good stretch. I was going to get tickets to the Dallas game, but the Wings have a history of being sluggish in their first games back from a long trip so I will wait until Saturday haha. GO WINGS
