I don't know if it bothers any of you guys, but I am getting tired of the dumb penalty calls against players (every team) that should not be one. I mean the times the refs make a call when it didn't even happen... they just thought it happened from where their position was... So what if certain penalties went into review... because I am tired of them. Last night, Homer was tripped in front of the net, but the ref gave him a penalty cuz he thought Homer was diving.... thats retarded... and I think they should be reviewable...

I nono... Babs may want to play Dom back to back especially a big game like Anaheim where Dom would do better then Ozzy... And Babs tends to favor Dom...
-
IT actually has not been said anywhere that Ozzy is in net. I would bet that Dom may get teh start becasue the wings will likely play the ducks sometime in the playoffs, so Babs would likely rather have Dom in there to prepare him for playoffs... since its a big game and stuff.... I hope Dom is in net...
-
Ahh... it is worrying about streaks that should not be done. 10 wins in a row would be nice... but the Wings main focus is their next game, and so on. Now, the wings didn't play good at all tonight, so hopefully they fix up their little issues and get back into their game Thursday against the Kings and then against the Leafs. Another thing, do not underestimate the bad teams... they seem to play extra hard against the wings, to try to prove something. The wings must treat them as a legitimate threat, just as if it was the Ducks, Habs, or another GOOD team... because they want to play their strong game.... so lets hope... but as we hope lets jsut go by game and see how we do...

Great game wings!!! 7 in a row... I don't know how they keep doing so well... That Z goal was sick... so fast. And Pavel for his 5th game winner of the year... he is just superhuman wiht that puck. Solid performance by Ozzy, and great defence to support him. Call me greedy, but I think Pavel deserved an assist on that last goal too... he got the puck to Lids, who then passed it to Rafi... so really Pavel should have walked away with 2 more assists and a goal... But o well.... From here wings play the Wild, and Dom, who is almost invinsible against the wild, starts in net... and I think wings will get some revenge and win their 8th straight. Then the Kings will be a 9th win straight for wings... which leads up to the leafs... and I think wings will win that one too... Hell I find it hard to picture wings losing with their current level of play... GO WINGS

I think this will be a good'ol wings game where they play puck possession. Strong game by the Wings.... 4-1 wings (Dats X2, Hank, Cleary)

To be honest, I like Ozzy, but i like Dom more. Dom is my favorite goalie of all time, and since December 4th, has played better than Ozzy. Dom really picked his game up and is playing really solid goal tending. Ozzy on the other hand has been up and down as of late.... and personally, I do not think Ozzy plays as good as Dom under pressure. Come playoff time, Dom, no matter how good he is at the time, shifts to another gear... so Id feel better with Dom in net in the playoffs... Also, do you guys notice now how Babs is starting Dom against teams that are more threatening? H changed the order to have Ozzy play the Kings and now the Cyotes... and made it so Dom started against Vancouver, in San Jose, and against the DUcks.... that just makes me think more that he is getting Dom ready for number1...
-
I think Pavel will win. First of all, he is my favorite player, second... he works magic with that puck. He is going to make the goalies look bad, and I have a funny feeling that he will have a sick ass deek planned... go PAVEL...
-
I think this will be a good game. Based on his recent levels of play, I think Dom is going to have a big game... really strong against the Ducks. Also, I espect no goals until the second period. With that said, I thiink the final score will be 4-1 Wings ( Pavel, Lids, Cleary, Kronwall) By the way, I was looking ahead, and the next time we play the Ducks is on Feb 10, which means it will be a back to back game again! (we play toronto the day before). So that is dumb... but GO WINGS!!!

I really liked these lines tonight. I am really happy our top line is back in tack.... they just pull magic. Filpulla and Hudler have greaet chemestry (hopefully they stay together), and yea.... Now, on paper it looks like our top line didn't do much tonight.... but they did. They created magic with their play, and just could not capitalize on it. But you must understand they havn't played with each other on the same line very much in a while... so I think they were a little 'off' tonight... I expect our top line to be FULLY FUNCTIONING within the next game or 2.... Also, another great game by Dom. He has just seemed so comftorable in net these past many weeks... just specacular performances, reminding me of why I want him to be our number 1 still.... I know many of you think Ozzie should be number 1... but now, I can safely say Dom is pretty much at his top game now... and I think he is doing better than Ozzie (no offence). I am not by any means starting a goalie debate... I just think, once again, based on another great performance by Dom,, he in my eyes is our number 1.... GREAT GAME WINGS!!!

Well, looking at the scoreboard thsi is a bad game for the wings.... but if you watched it, they did not play all that bad. They generated a lot of scoring chances where they couldnt get the puck in because it was bouncing... just one of those nights. Ozzie did not have a good game, and that gave atlanta the edge. Now, in no way do I blame Ozzie... cuz i don't care how good goalies are, you have your ups and downs, and ozzie is on his down right now... but he will be back. So, what is missing from the wings game? Physical play? no... I thought they did pretty good tonight in that aspect, defense was not at best but wasnt all too bad, and offence was good because they did their job generating chances...hmm CHANCES. Thats it... the only one true thing the wings have been lacking is doing a better job to convert chances to a goal... Now, losing 2 in a row (3 with no win) the Wings, I'm sure, will generate to goals more, starting thursday, and Vancouver is in for a bad night because the Wings are gonna play viciously looking for 2 points (which means Dom is in net, and the team will actually play for him)... so.. lets just forget about this and move on... I mean how lucky are we... we are firsst in the NHL... and have won 33 times... quit complaining about the wings... they are human, they will bounce back (thursday) and play great hockey again.

That was the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. In case you forogt... even after the last 3 games, wings are still first in the nhl... that says something. Wings are great... but I don't care who you are... you can't be hot like the wings have been forever... so they have had a couple bad games... it happens... and quite frankly the wings did not play all that bad tonite... Yes, Ozzie did not play well tonite... but to say he is dont is just ignorant and quick over dramatic judgment call. Look at Dom, perfect example... had about 3 games where he played bad... now look at him... he is his old self again. Ozzie has been great all year, so he has 2 bad games... My bet is he goes and practices a lot tomororw to fix his problem and will soon be saving us again... along with Dom...
-
Now obviously I am a huge wings fan, but to not care and be happy about someone from another team being injured is just mean and un-sportsmen.... Heatly is a very good player, so this will be hard for the sens to adapt to during his absense... so i hope he gets better soon and gets back to the ice because being first is great, but it is even better when you beat a whole team that has all their good players... But honestly I would never wish upon someone, from any team, to get injured.... that was just dumb and very disrespectful.

Actually... if the Wings brought there A game ALL game against the sens (not the last 10 minutes or so) then we would have hurt the sens pretty bad. Think about it... the Wings played pretty bad those first 2 periods (gave up way too many pucks, didn't win many puck battles, passing was off, even shooting was off) in which the sens capitalized on with 2 goals. But then 3rd period, for the last 10 min, the wings finally played good, and got 2 nice goals to tie the game up. Now, if the wings played like that all game... I think we'd have hurt the sens pretty bad (though we did hurt Heatly). All in all, this is going to be a big wake up call to the wings and they will play very good puck control on tuesday, and the WHOLE team will play for an ENTIRE 60 min with their A game. If this game showed me one thing... it is that Dom is the goalie we need in playoffs because his saves tonight were just spectacular and he is the only reason we were actually able to tie it up... so good game Dom...
-
That is dumb... Dom is not scared of anyone... he is goalie, and like every goalie his job is to watch the puck, whoever is coming at him, and Dom has been great lately. To be honest... this is a "good" loss for the wings because they have not played great the last 2 games (this one included). Last game the offence had trouble getting things done, this game our defence was lacking big time.... wings let the wild play around with the puck WAY too much behind our net today... With that said... I am sure that his loss is a nice wake up call for the wings. Mike Babcock will be sure to fix the problems up, and have a very strong team to play against the sens saturday. The sens best be ready becasue, after this loss, Detroit is going to play very good with the puck on Saturday... and I hope Dom starts in net becasue Ozzy just seemed off tonight, not bad at all, just off... and Dom plays good against his old teams... so wings shake this off... and kick the sens ass Saturday

http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46749 This is a link to a post from a while ago about how to watch all NHL games online for FREE. It has step by step instructions , and it works because my friend watches every wings game on it... have fun watchin the amazing wings.

Id go with Dom because, for the most part, goalies seem to play "more" good against their former team, likely because they know what the players are liable to do, and I think Dom is very good with his anticipation in the first place.... Also I really think Dom is literally getting better game by game that he plays, as his save percentage and goals against average have both gotten better and better by the game since the beginning of December. And, for what it is worth, I like Babcock's rotation of the netminers because in a way it seems Dom and Ozzy are "competing" with each other, which is resulting in spectacualar performances, which just betters our team.

Hmm... ironic how we scored in the last 8 seconds of 1st period and they score with the last 8 seconds in the 2nd period. Anyways the guys neeed to pick up their feet and win us this///
-
Well, once Nick Lidstrom retires, who do you guys think will become the captain of our Wings? Personally, I think that there are 2 possible choices, that being Datsyuk and Z... Personally I think Datsyuk will become captain simply because he is my favorite and because he seems to be more captain like.
-
To be honest, though I don't like it, it may be a nice needed little wake up call for the wings. I mean, their last 2 games (cyotes and now the blues) they have not played their normal puck posession game, have not been as good at passing and receiving, and have been coughing up too many pucks. Don't get me wrong, they have not played bad or anything... just a case of needing a little wake up call, and this is it. Now they have a days rest, Hank is rumoured to play wednesday, so I predict a much better Wings team against Dallas Wednesday.
-
Sounds pretty good, especially considering Z might be back, though I have my faith in Pavel. The only thing is that I read the preview for the game on the Red Wings site and it seemed to hint that Dom will start in net, just an observation. Personally, I want Ozzy to be in net today and Dom in net tomororw against Colorado, but we will see.... either way GO WINGS!
-
I know that Ozzy has been hot in net so far this season, but I think that we all know that Dom is better in playoffs, and it looks like he has picked up his game. Now, I am quite sure Babcock wants Hasek to remain as number 1 goalie, so it is my opinion that Dom deserves the start Friday, after the way he plays against Habs. If Dom keeps playing well, then I see no reason why he shouldn't continue to play. I think if Dom wins, and plays well Friday, then he should get the start on Sunday, and so on. Personally, I believe that Dom would be the better goalie to be number 1, so its time to play him over and over to keep his game strong, as long as he continues to play well. Now, Dom is older obviosuly, so I think that Ozzy should play 1 game a week just to give Dom a little rest and avoid any minor injury.... other than that... go DOM!

Osgood in net for Phoenix; Hasek in net for Montreal

Look, I'll admit, I am a Dom fan. But, being un-biased, i can truly say that Dom has not had a good season thus far. Now, I can say that Dom's last game was a big improvement over his previous games, but can say he has a ways to go to get back to the good 'ol Dom. Obviosuly, Dom will not be as good as he once was, but I think the guy has been working his butt off so he can deliver us at least for this last season, a good one. Now, I know many of you, as my friends too, are not pleased that Dom gets the start in Montreal... but I see this as a good thing. Starting up on the road is good for Dom because I am sure Detroit fans are not the happiest with him right now, and it is a test to make sure he can get past the Montreal surrounding. Also, Montreal is a pretty good team this year, and will generate a good amount of shots on Dom, which is a good thing because it will give him more confidence, allow him to get more comftorable in net, and get him back to his old self. If Dom can, and I believe will, play good in Montreal, than we can dominate. This game is important for Dom, which will make him play better. He knows that if he doesn't show improvement that Ozzy could very well take over, therefore I think Dom will surprise many people tomorrow, and be back to his old self.... Good luck Dom. -
Look, Detroit, as a whole, slowed down after the first period. Take into account that Detroit played a game last night, while Nashville was sitting at home. Detroit then had to fly to Nashville today to play their game... I can assure you that I knew Detroit wouldn't play 100% tonight... thats a lot of things happening in a small amount of time, which makes the team tired. So, a rested Nashville team took advantage and outplayed the Wings, simply put. Yah, the refs sucked, but there were dumb calls on both sides, you can blame Dom, but do you really think you have to bash the guy as much as you are? No, he is obviosly trying hard... we know he practices a lot to improve, and always ends up improving, which is why I still stand behind Dom. Dom saved 27 out of 30 shots tonight, which is CLEARLY far better than his last couple games. Now, no, that is not amazing, but it tells us that Dom is improving, and that he is picking up more and more, and I bet, based on his performance tonight, he will be close to 100% Dom by mid- December latest. Last week Dom was letting in lousy wristers and stuff, and seemed totally not himself and not compftorable... today Dom did a much better job with the wristers, and seemed much more compfterable in net. The only thing Dom needs to work on now is to not allow so many rebounds (though he didn't do a terrible job with it tonight) but a rebound costed the wings their 2nd goal. Guarentee you Dom has that fixed in a week or so, and we can truly refer to him as the Dominator once again... But seriously, if you say Dom played bad tonight, you have no idea what you are talking about, and you just don't like him.
