Hey RWNW! It looks like it's that time again! (I swear they were just here like a month ago!! lol) The Wings invade the Ponda Wednesday, February 3th at 7:00PM. We will meet for the pre-skate behind the Wings bench at 6:30pm! Any takers for JT Schmid's at 5:00pm. If so, please confirm you will be there either via pm or posting in this thread so I can place a reservation no later than Sunday, January 31st. JT Schmids Location(Google Maps, 2610 E. Katella Avenue, Anaheim Ca) See you THERE!! I can't wait! Maybe we'll be lucky enough and they will have another open practice between the Ponda and Stapler games!!

Hey Twitter buddy... It looks like because there's no plane light to get there will be more of a chance to meet them, shake hands, take pictures and get autos... just don't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. It's hit or miss sometimes. I've been several times - twice they've signed and taken pictures.. last time they didn't because TSA had blocked off the area for them going to the bus to go through clearance because they went right to the plane to take off. -

I think you mean Saturday the 6th

That's correct.. Sportsk never got the authentic Winter Classic jerseys..only the replica/premiers.
-
I got mine off of fan's edge about a year ago. They had a discount deal so I bought it (and that's my last purchase ever from that company). I doubt you will find them anywhere but Ebay now or specialty retailers where they've raised the price. Good luck though. My WC is my favorite jersey now. It's comfortable enough to sleep in!

sportsk is absolutely phenomenal! They did my yzerman retro jersey and I've been completely satisfied with them. I will send my authentic winter classic there to have it customized soon. Everyone I know who has used them for customization (owning their own jersey and shipping it to sportsk for the lettering/numbering) has been very pleased and has continued to use them since. They are very helpful and if you have questions, pick up the phone and call them. They will clarify any step of the process to you. I hate the fake WC jerseys and you can spot them a mile away.

Anyone here ever see the Stanley Cup in person?
VladyIBELIEVE16 replied to bdavis's topic in General
Yup! In 2003 it was touring the remaining cities in the Western/Eastern Conference finals which happened to be Anaheim at the time. I worked with a guy that is a huge Kings fan. He left work early and he told me to call him when I left work so I could hop in line with him. It's a good thing I did because they shut the line down right after where he was standing in line! We waited something like three hours and had the best time in line waiting. I got up there, touched Vladdy's name, hugged, kissed the cup and had my picture taken with it (twice.. my other friend that I called and met me there pulled me into his picture too). I examined that Cup as long as they would possibly let me and was staring at it nonstop once we got close enough to it. My boss the next day scanned the photo for me and entitled it "Jacqui and Stan" everyone thought it was my new boyfriend before they opened it ahahahaha It was epic and completely worth the wait. I couldn't believe how shiny it was either. It was like meeting someone famous. My mom happened to be at the same mall that night having dinner so I ran over to show her the picture before I left to go home. The ironic thing is one of the guys friends (who is now my best friend) was at a different place the following day and the Cup was there just sitting out, no line, no audience.. just him and Phil Pritchard. He's a Kings fan too so he didn't touch it lol. -
Hey Red Wings Nation West! I just found out that the Red Wings have the ice at 1:30- 2:30pm at Toyota Sports Center (aka Health South) on Friday, January 8, 2010 The address and phone number: 555 North Nash St. El Segundo, CA 90245 ph. (310) 535-4510 I've bolded the times because I just called and they told me 1:30-2:30 (updated Thursday 1/7/2010 at 4:32 pm) UPDATE Just called 9:58 and spoke with Brit - she says "They have the ice. They haven't canceled yet but it's always a possibility" Please be aware of this before heading over there. It's always a chance it could be canceled but I'm pretty sure that if babcock had canceled practice they would've canceled long before now. You can always give the rink a call before you decide to leave. It's up to you. I'm going no matter what. See you there!

Hopefully February's set of games will help us accomplish that feat!!! It's my pleasure to share these pictures. I know it's nice to see pictures of the players and hear stories!!!

Wow what a blast! Let’s see LGW’ers that showed up were: TheWestWing & Mrs. Thewestwing Wingnut 25 Yzermania Me Sharomyga WMUCarGuy rdwinguy When we first got there the red wings were playing soccer on the roller hockey rink which is the first rink inside the facility (Lilja was out there as well having a good time). I guess the Wings got there around noon/ 12:30 a boy mentioned he had gotten Zee’s autograph when they first arrived but the rink had blocked off the area so we couldn’t go down to the roller rink level for this portion. Here’s a few pictures of the soccer practice. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1835...mp;l=b0f18529bc Franzen and Williams were on the ice just about 1:06 and were on the ice. Kronwall was there too. Lilja was on the ice as well for the practice. It was so cool to see them having a good time with each other. Ken Daniels (there’s a picture of him) and Jack Johnson (Kings) was there as well (picture of him on here too). Jack Johnson watched the entire practice. Larry Murphy was in the building but I didn’t nab a shot of him. Here’s the first album from the Ice practice: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1835...mp;l=6ff481d2ca Album 2 http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1835...mp;l=f91cbb312f I was walking along the rink (and Derek Meech was skating along side of me and he looked at me and I flashed this huge grin and he smiled back). There’s a ton of pictures – some awesome some blurry and some worth deleting! I figured I’d just upload them all and you can flip through them. I wish my zoom was better (looks like it might be time to upgrade my camera!!!) Leino was nice and he came out and signed autographs (last picture of the second ice practice album signing). They had the place pretty much on lockdown since the Wings went directly to the airport after this practice and they did their security TSA searches on site right before getting on the bus. TSA had blocked off the walk way from the roller rink to the team bus and told us they would not be able to touch or do anything once they had TSA clearance. *The father son trip 2 years ago they were not in any hurry and everyone was standing around and signing autographs. It was a bit different than this time and the wings practiced on the other rink not the kings rink (as they did this time) so they were walking through an area when they got off the ice they signed stuff. This time they weren’t directly accessible. Jason Williams was in the roller area doing all these exercises conditioning himself to play. It was really cool to see his dedication and how long he was out there. It was a blast. I know everyone wants autographs but they basically had the ice from 1:30-2:30 and their plane left LAX at 3:30. It was awesome to see the lines being run etc. Here’s a video I took while we were there – I tried to get as much of the action as I could but I didn’t want to give you all motion sickness LOL

Gut - how come you didn't introduce yourself - all of the LGW'ers were all congregated together!! Sometimes you win some some times you lose - Flip and Leino signed and I guess Zee did at the very beginning
