I said this in the off-season. Stick him in the 4th line rotation, have him play ~ 40 games <10min TOI, save him for the playoffs.
-
Of those 3? Abdelkader. Overall, and around the league? Howard without a doubt.
-
Interesting that they call AA up, and not Sproul again...then again they did this last season alternating between Tatar and Nyquist. I like it, it gives more prospects a taste of the big leagues. Can you imagine AA and Sproul on the PP together in a couple of years? Gunna take a brave man to be the net front guy with those two unleashing bombs.

So, we've got ourselves a 1st line. We've got ourselves a 3rd line. Helm makes everything better, especially 4th lines Now all we need is a 2nd line. If only we had a young, speedy, skilled, playmaking winger we could put there.......Unfortunately there's none available, and if there was it would cost us an arm and a leg....

What a joke. The Kovulchuck contract was also within the rules, yet Bettman decided to rip the Devils a new ******* but ignore the Zetterberg, Hossa, Luongo, Pronger etc contracts. Still, pretty clever of the Flyers to start it all with 7 minutes left, AFAIK the "suspensions for starting fights in blowouts unless your name is Evgeni Malkin" rule only applies to the last 5 minutes.

At least he's honest, and not doing what other celebs with drink problems do (ie lie to the camera).

Congrats to Petr Mrazek on his first NHL shut-out. Am I the only one who hears his name in Blashill's voice announcing the line-ups, after the Griffins film of their Calder Cup run? In other news, the Edmonton Oilers are really, really bad.

Wrist, Pav tripped over him in the crease when Sammy was a Canuck. We were playing our best hockey since 2008, then Howie got injured too, when they both came back they weren't the same and we were sucktacular in the playoffs against Nashville.
-
No, Sammy has Cleary (when Cleary was valuable) and Datysuk (completely ruining our season) in his trophy cabinet.

There was quite a bit of discussion about this on HFboards, lots of people calling for Z to receive a multi-game suspension. For me its a clear double-minor and no more.
-
Pavel celebrates the fact that its only a month into the season and we're already 7 points clear of 9th spot thanks to the sucktitude of the Metro division

Absolutely disgusting. I've always been on the record as being totally against the "getting blown out so start a fight mentality". You suck, take it like a man, and go out and try harder next time. But this is a new low, and of course it has to be Philly. Their management, fans and media have created this culture and mindset. Coach, GM and Emery all deserve fines and suspensions. The asshat journalist who made Emery 3rd star also deserves to be suspended, but as they self-righteously never cease to remind us, journalists believe themselves above criticism and beyond the law.

Great work as always. And come late November we finally have a schedule that takes into account the fact that we're actually in the Eastern Conference!

He said several years ago that he hadn't put on a pair of skates once since he retired.

I know. That, and he's not worth a bag of pucks. I'd still try waiving him, just for the 1% chance that someone would be crazy enough to claim him.
-
Calling up Glendening so Nyquist doesn't lose his waiver exemption makes me sad
-
Excellent news. Let the rehabilitation begin.

Trial date set in Steve Moore’s lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi

Seriously, is this still not settled? *facepalm* -
Sheesh, calm down. Its a LGW meme as old as Mickey Redmond's 'tache.

And did you know Maltby once scored 50 goals in junior?
-
I've always been of the same opinion. Its only North America that plays the national anthem before every sporting event. Internationals, sure thing.

Honestly, I think the biggest loss of the last 5 years has been Lidstrom (obviously), Rafalski and Stuart on the back end. For all the crap the latter two caught for "sucking" we're only now seeing the value of players of their caliber on the back end. Having 4 quality defencemen, all of whom could move the puck, was such a huge part of the way we played. Now we're lucky if our defencemen manage to chip the puck out the zone to centre ice.

Maybe not Draper Anyway, since the other 3 lines have scored about 2 goals between them, it was alas only a matter of time before Pav and Hank were split up. Will they drag the others up to their level, or will they be dragged down?
