Alright, some new news for Wings fans! Oh and Miller is great too, heh.
-
Is it normal for players to talk about an organization interest in you the way Modano does? Seems like all the "not a bad place to be" or "they're selling it pretty hard" is just a way to market himself to other teams. "If Detroit is interested in him then maybe we should consider him."
-
Yep. I think the Wings are a team that value hockey sense over everything else. And Zetterberg is an incredibly smart player.
-
If he does end up in a Wings jersey, which is still very doubtful at this point, my hope is that it doesn't push Filppula down the depth chart. Or, that perhaps the signing will push Filppula to fight really hard for the 2nd line center spot and PP time that will likely go to Modano if he can't do it.

How wont the Wings be the favorites to win the west?
titanium2 replied to wingsownnhl43's topic in General
Because the Wings play better when the media says they won't win the west. -
Maybe Kenny made Lebda or Williams take care of all that bulls***.
-
Yep. I think they just put that out there to generate some buzz or some dumb reason like that.

Trying to say that Yzerman is the C-Word of GM's?
-
Actually I thought the list was hardest hitters of today. Kronwall shouldn't be on that list, imo.
-
What about today?
-
When he played during the Olympics he had some awesome hits and he performed them fairly often. I hope to see that Kronwall next year. Maybe 55fan can have a talk with him about how next year is HUGE year for him.

I still have some hopes for the off-season for Kenny and his team. I'd like for them to get some stability within the bottom six. Someone who can keep the flies off is necessary even if he's a healthy scratch for 30-40 games. The bottom six according to Babs' lines has Hudler, Cleary and once they get signed, Helm, Eaves, Abdelkader, Miller, Draper and Ritola. That's already eight guys for six spots but I'd still like for them to get some old fashioned toughness. Abdelkader shouldn't have to carry that load by himself. I would most definitely trade away Miller and Ritola for one player who can provide toughness if it were that simple. I like both of those guys but you have to give up something. They desperately need a veteran #5-6 defenseman. I don't think they can count on Janik to be that guy. At this point, they absolutely cannot count on Meech, Ericsson or Kindl for that kind of veteran stability. Ideally these days I hope for Lilja to come back and they trade away Meech or something like that. That's what I'm hoping for. Hell I think that's what a lot of people on here are hoping for. In all likelihood though it doesn't seem like the team will change that much from what it is now and Kenny is fine with that. We'll just have to trust his vision. -
He has a potential for douchnescity?
-
What lines did Modano play on for the most part the past three seasons?
-
With all these overpayments coming up I hope Kindl and or Ericsson and or someone else develop well enough to make Kronwall expendable by the time his contract comes up.
-
Definitely Chicago,
-
I think his wife wants him to stop playing or something. Plus he is around 34/35 something like that right? For his style of play that's pretty old.
-
Which team could you imagine that would have a better third scoring line?
-
Cleary-Modano-Hudler. Let's say that's a 3rd scoring line. How good would that be in comparison to the rest of the league?
-
Can't suck that hard to be a Hawks fan. They did just win the cup.

I had an ant farm once. Those fellas didn't grow s***. Or Whenever you're at a restaurant and they call out a party's name, "Dufrane, party of two. Dufrane, party of two," and if no one answers they just move on to the next name, "Bush, party of three. Bush, party of three." Yeah, but what happened to the Dufranes? How can anybody eat at a time likes this? People are missing! You people are selfish! The Dufranes are tied up in the trunk of somebody's car right now... and they're hungry!

I'm sure Brian Burke is just inconsolable after trading away Stalberg. We all know how much he loves Euros.
-
We all know about the Stanley Cup Hangover. Is there such a thing as a Salary Cap hangover? Everyone is just so worn out from having to get under the salary cap. If the league were so inclined, could it just decide to dick the Hawks over and not help them out in any trades, causing them to be over the cap to start the season and forfeit every game in which they are over the cap?

Damn ***** you got jacked *****.
