Franzen can play a Homer type role on the power play. 5-on-5, you don't really want him in front of the net. You want him in the Brett Hull areas of the ice getting ready to shoot.

I'd say 30 games into next season. At that point all fans have a fairly good idea of the potential of their team. I don't know how Sharks fans feel about Marleau but I personally wouldn't want him back at the price he'll command. If the Sharks made it into the finals then they'll be less likely to let his overrated behind leave.

As far as contracts go I think Shark fans will eventually see the silver lining when it comes to losing out this year. What if they did win it all and then they rewarded Marleau with a ridiculous contract that he doesn't deserve? That wouldn't be good for them.

It wouldn't be the worst thing if the Flyers were to win the cup. It just sucks because Pronger is on that team now. But he is playing some pretty damn good hockey right now. What kind of player to you think he'll be? When he started out we heard reports that the sky was the limit for him. Now after this year it seems like he'll be a #4 or 5 defenseman at best. He shows flashes every now and again but consistency seems to be too big of an issue in which we should not expect him to be a top 3 defenseman.

Those who've watched him in the WJC say his skating is fine. They expect him to skate like Zetterberg. He won't be the fastest but he'll be good.

I'm really curious to see how the Hawks will play against the Flyers defense. It'll be interesting to see how Toews, Kane and Hossa clash with a Pronger-led defense.

The Datsyuk-Hossa pairing was a flop on the ice under intense playoff pressure. You had both guys trying to do too much whenever they got the puck. More often than not both guys would lose the puck too quickly after fighting so hard to get it back. Plus you had Homer with his multitude of injuries who couldn't do the things he normally does so well. It didn't look like that much of a threat and in hindsight it wasn't. On paper Hossa is a perfect fit. On the ice... Well, you know.
