Another situation that doesn't give Wings fans much optimism is if a playoff game goes to OT. The Wings are 6-8 since the '04 playoffs. In the six games that they did win, the goal scorers were, Maltby (EDM 06) Franzen (CAL 07) Schneider (SJ 07) Franzen (NAS 08) Samuelsson (CHI 09) Helm (CHI 09) Hmm.

Not gonna lie here, when it comes to sports, I hate the city of Boston more than any because when it comes to all the major sports, they are the only city that comes to mind that has Detroit beat overall. Hate Randy Moss, hate Josh Beckett, hate Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. I don't think the Bruins have any individual that I hate... yet, but I'm sure one will come out sooner or later. All of that in mind, there is nothing that I would love to see more than the Bruins knock the s*** out of the Pens if that meeting were to ever occur. Sure I'd love to see the Wings win it all but I've always had a nagging feeling that this is a stopgap, transition year, learning experience, whatever you want to call it for the Red Wings. Not so much for the top guys, but for the youthful role players and Howard. If the Bruins are to come out of the East, I might start to believe that the world can be a fair place every now and again. My faith in that regard took a huge hit after Whiny Face scored the gold medal winning goal.

That is one happy human, Savard, haha. Philly played a good game though. They took the Bruins all the way to overtime.

I'd like to see the Sedin Twins get a cup, despite Burrows and overrated Bobby Loo being on the same team. Plus, if Sammy gets another, I'm sure his Swedish friends back here in Detroit will never hear the end of it, which could motivate them to win another. EDIT: And post #7,000 for me!!! Staal is a big guy and he uses his size a little more than Franzen does to throw hits around but not enough for me to sign on that trade. Franzen's ability to score goals is a hell of a lot better. Even if he's in somewhat of a goal-scoring slump right now.

IMO, the Pens have never ever been better than the Wings. Ever. The Wings were definitely the better team last year. They just didn't have better luck. EDIT: Simply put, The Wings have nothing to prove to the Pens anymore.

What I don't like is the "We only respond when our backs are against the walls" mentality. As if they have to be down a game or two or God forbid three in order to start playing with emotion. "We can come back from anything" and bla bla bla. It's a dangerous way to play.
