I can't get over the fact that Green is a candidate for the Norris trophy while Lidstrom gets voted the best shutdown defensemen while being third on his team in points.

EDIT: Although if someone were to somehow combine the hockey genes of Pav and Z that player would probably dominate every game from start to finish? Pav's got a daughter, Z will have a son, and those two tykes will combine to give birth to the greatest player ever.

True but hockey might be the farthest thing from being America's sport. Fair or unfair.

The Sharks apparently play a similar style to the Wings. I think the majority of Wings fans believe that nobody can beat the Wings IF they want to play that kind of style. At the same time, if the Wings don't play their best, they won't win. I feel like this series is going to be quite a roller coaster. I hope I'm wrong in a very, very good way.

One of my fears is that the Wings will subconsciously behave as if, "Hey, we beat this team 3 times out of 4 this year. This will be easy." Of course they always say the right things to the media but sometimes their actions on the ice reflect something different. -

That's actually a tough decision. He was a HUGE part of the 1997 cup win. At the same time the whole 1998 year was dedicated to him. Although we did not believe so before the year started, the 1997 team is quite legendary in our eyes. Some argue that it's even better than the 2002 and 2009 teams. 97 will always be my personal favorite.

Realistically no he wouldn't. You have Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Filppula, Helm and Abdelkader already having to fight over four center spots. Filppula is doing great right now on the wing but he will eventually find his way back being a center.
