2009 - Hudler 2008 - Franzen 2007 - Filppula 2006 - Lang 2004 - Draper Not much of a pattern here, haha. EDIT: I take that back. From what I remember, four out of the aforementioned guys played on the third line at the time they scored those goals. It's only fitting that the Helm line score the first goal since they've been the hottest line as of late.

I hope so. We all know how stubborn he can be.

Great News! FSN to show all games (not NBC)
titanium2 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Mickey and his "Holy Mackerel!" I wonder where he learned that phrase. Does he fish or something? Or eat mackerel a lot? And Ken was awesome in last year's Anaheim series. He said "Game 7!!" almost after every goal or something like that. -
Haha. Coma MVP: Ericsson
-
Why? From who? Because he scored the final goal against ANA?
-
Babs says, "Lines are there to be kept together if they're going good and there to be changed if they're not." Williams, you better play your ass off if you want to stay in the lineup.
-
Exactly. If he plays that kind of role for the Wings with pride, then he is great for this team. If he is in a role where he's a guy who gets to play with the puck then he's not great for this team.
-
How good is that rate for 13 minutes a game? Average? Above Average?
-
MVP: Osgood (with the way he supports Jimmy) Sleeper: Draper (with the way he supports the bottom two lines)

Danny himself even said that his groin isn't completely healed and that it won't be until he nurses it during the off-season. I don't know if he's skating better himself. I just think Helm and Eaves are better linemates for him because they can really skate and retrieve pucks for him. He hasn't really had linemates who can do that for him this year. Zetterberg? Bertuzzi? Leino? Yeah right. He also gets to be the main puckhandler on that line. Cleary knows that he can dump it in and feel confident that eventually the puck will come back to him as Helm and Eaves forecheck with great speed. As the main puckhandler he has reason to feel confident because he's the guy who controls the puck and make plays with it. It's a completely different dynamic than when he played with Z, Bert, Leino or Fil.
-
I've treated this thread as the Cleary one since the OP proposed that The Wings trade him after the season: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64049 But I love what he's done for the third line. I really think that's a better fit for him. He has linemates who have similar natural tendencies as he is more of a chip and chase kind of guy. When he was with Zetterberg he would sometimes dump the puck in and nobody would chase after it. Now Z has Fil as a linemate, who can hang onto the puck and make plays and Cleary has Helm and Eaves who can chase after the puck and set him up for shots. I really like how it's working out for both lines.

Phoenix Coyotes Forward Lines and Pairings

I do have faith that Babs and Co. will study endless hours of video and come up with a good game plan. I do worry a little about Jimmy though. He needed some losses to get used to playing in the NHL this year. Hopefully he'll do whatever he has to do in order to play well. -
People have explained that episode to me before and I still don't understand exactly what that whole rant was about and where it came from and the point of it all.
-
I remember somebody somewhere on LGW asking for the compilation FSN played after the game. I found it on YT:
-
He'll hit more in the playoffs but not like Dallas Drake or even Darren Helm. As long as he plays a Holmstrom like role for the 2nd line I'm happy.

Here's where Homer got his goals this season. This won't be a surprise to anyone on here.

Phoenix Coyotes Forward Lines and Pairings

The Yotes know that they can win simply by working harder than the Wings. They will certainly bring their A game. My hope is that the Wings take on the challenge and exceed their hustle and work ethic. If they do that then they should win. I hope so for LGWs sake. I'd rather not see a lot of angry 35 page GDTs and a bunch of "lazy and sucks threads". (Unless they're the good kind of lazy and sucks threads). -
