Well I guess I agree in that the Wings' brass will try to remain competitive as much as possible by changing the system to fit the personnel or whatever but losing a top 10 if not top 5 dmen of all time will take a lot of time and adjustment and right now it doesn't seem like it will be all that pretty or enjoyable to watch. Someone needs to create a thread about Crosby with a poll with many different choices to decide whether or not LGW respects and likes/dislikes him. And it should be the last Crosby thread ever on LGW. Any updates on his behavior will go/merge into that thread. Chances are that thread would keep a good portion of Carman's posts into one thread, thus making him a little easier to ignore. I see many advantages to this idea but I need the mods to back me on this.

Right. Seems like every team now has a guy in front of the net. But just because they stand there doesn't make them a 'Holmstrom-type'. Not every team has a guy who can anticipate and retrieve pucks the way Holmstrom can. To me that's the best thing about him. His teammates can shoot it and more often than not when he's healthy he'll be able to get the puck back despite his average to below average skating ability. I can't believe it's so hard to name other people in the league with a similar game.

With Cleary on the Helm line suddenly that line is a threat to score a little. Draper and Osgood can be the team's biggest supporters off the ice. It's what they're best at this year. Like I said in the other thread, please no Williams. Ever. I really hope May is in the lineup. The playoffs is when he really shines the most, imo. I also hope the Wings re-sign him but only if they treat him right. They should make enough cap room for him to be a reserve forward. No more Grand Rapids for him. He's been a consummate professional about it but he deserves better.

What a great player. I remember when the big knock on him around the mid-nineties was his lack of defensive play. He started to clean that up around 97 or 98 and he got a lot of credit for it. I also remember when he was in The Mighty Ducks. "Actually I heard you were a farmer." WTF?

My hope for a playoff lineup including the black aces within a depth ranking: At the end of the day though, Babs, I beg you, please no Williams. Yeah right. That dude would rather have Abdelkader in the lineup instead of Miller. Yes, Drew Miller, who's been very important to the team this year.

At drawing attention. Schticks don't exist without people paying attention to them.

To me it depends on whether or not Vinny Lecavalier can play like a franchise player. I mean, what happened to this guy? An injury I know but it seems like he's really fallen off mentally.

I try not to do anything that I think will upset the Hockey or Karma gods.
