Anyone who can actually watch the game of hockey knows better than what that POS says. He's made mistakes but overall the positives completely outweigh the negatives.
-
Normally I don't believe in that but I'd make an exception for Cooke.

I don't know about Nike Bauer though. I guess it just depends on what works for you. I like the Easton stuff better. I've just had better experiences with the stuff.

Must come into EDM with some urgency because I'm guessing we'll see a lot of this from them:
-
First of all, he must to be willing to play in the AHL. That is absolutely a must. And then after a year, maybe longer, the role he can hope for is a bottom six scorer much like Leino was supposed to be and at best a 3rd/2nd line tweener as a Red Wing. If he wants to be a Red Wing, he will likely have to abide by those conditions. A guy who is 5'7 making the Red Wings and being effective would be a good story though. Just not all that likely, which is what makes it a good story.

What did they say?

Although it is funny to look back at all the "Trade Kronwall" threads that showed up in the search engine. A few of those comments by users here were probably repeated about Ericsson this year. They're not the same situations but hopefully Ericsson will prove some people wrong like Kronner. I know a certain user on here is hoping for that. User name rhymes with Snake_Carcass.

Haha, I had a thread like this a couple months ago. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58004 Hopefully more people like it this time. EDIT: Not a couple months actually. More like almost a year.

Retired agitator my ass. You still got it in you. If you really did retire you did so in a manner like Mase and Jay-Z.

You see a disabled and yet supremely talented musician? Kidding, kidding... Yeah I like Toews. And his .

They must not take any games for granted. Too many times we've thought they "should" win against a team like so and so but too many times we've witnessed them lose.
-
That's be awesome. But hell no. He will continue to average 20 minutes a game and very few of that will be on the PK. I'll just be happy if he can get his amount to a number that isn't significantly different from 97.

It's a worthy observation. Before the lockout you had Madden, Peca (who has 2), Lehtinen (3) and Draper. After you had Brind'Amour with 2 and then Pav with 2 in which neither of them scored less than 80 points in a season. That's not just 'some' offensive output, that's scoring line output. Just another thing you could perhaps chalk up to the league having to sell the game and promote their offensive stars as much as possible.

It's not that simple when you examine more of the details of each of their respective SH TOI. What about the fact that Kesler is 2nd among VAN forwards in SH TOI while Datsyuk is 8th (or for all intents and purposes 7th since Malts is out injured)? Kesler is on the first string of forwards for the PK while Pav may or may not even get out there these days since Babs double shifts Helm and Eaves and still has to give time to Miller, Filppula, Cleary and Zetterberg. In fact, if you were to look up Pav on a situational ice time chart you would see that his PK time is virtually non-existent since Z and Cleary returned from injury.

Of all the things that Bettman copied off the NBA (crappy penalties, crappy refs, extra extra promotion of the super-uber-stars, etc.), why couldn't he have brought in the policy of the veteran's minimum? With this rule the Wings could have Drapes, Malts, Homer and Ozzie signed and it wouldn't count against the cap. May would be with Detroit instead of GR. Except they wouldn't be able to have contracts higher than 1.3mil per year. But still, that would create some valuable room for the Wings and many other teams I'm sure. Another reason to feel annoyed with him I guess.

Patric Hornqvist. Any chance we can lure him away and have Homer teach him everything he can?
-
Will Zetterberg ever get a Selke? Me thinks no.
-
You know I checked on that quickly. Looks as if he still lurks around here but hasn't posted in a while. Didn't he get banned for a while? Maybe he got banned again or something. Maybe his posting privileges have been revoked permanently. Ah well, probably shouldn't talk about anymore since he loves popularity.

Sorry Jake Ryan, looks like Kenny wants Ninety-Sux to stay:
-
Say it ain't so Drew... Hopefully that's just because of Sakic. Oh well, he's a Red Wing now and that's what counts. And I like how his nickname is Droopee.
-
I wasn't even aware he was up for a nomination because of all the press about how D & Z are no longer among the best two way players in the game. Plus, Datsyuk is on the 4th string of forwards for the PK.

Most unlikely Detroit Red Wings prospect to go big?
titanium2 replied to Off the Post's topic in General
Well, do you mean star like Datsyuk/Zetterberg or solid player with flashes of star to him like Franzen/Kronwall? -
Sometime this weekend probably.

Teams that Should Have Never Changed their Jerseys

This happened while they wore that jersey:
