That's too much of a comparison don't you think? Kane is a franchise winger who the scouts dubbed as a hockey prodigy. Gus is a fourth round draft pick who we just hope finds a way to make it to the NHL.

Other than Osgood's play, there was nothing all that tangible about his arguments. History, home ice and Quennville does not win you games. And "Hossa is due" should've really been a cause for concern. Somehow the fact that the Wings' bottom six weren't better than the opponent's eluded him.

I stopped paying attention to Khan's predictions when he said the Wings would win the cup because they beat a Joel Quennville coached team.

I might as well say it. It's too early for him to move on from college to the AHL. He still needs to add a lot of strength, which isn't just putting on weight and spending a lot of time in the weight room. It's also about learning to do the things that you do well with all that added weight. For example, Jan Mursak really struggled to play after putting on so much weight because he didn't know how to handle it. Gus still needs that time to grow into his body and play his game.

I thought Jokinen got hit in the neck. As did Ruutu. I don't think they dived. At least not as bad as Hossa's. I mean, in that one that got called against Hossa I think the guy thought, "If I just keep skating, his stick is already in the way of my legs and I'll just fall naturally." Is that a dive? I don't think so. EDIT: Had to add 'naturally.' -

I'll never forget Hossa's performance in this game. He had a monster 2nd period. And then turned into something else in the 3rd. A hilarious reaction to getting a penalty and then a nice dive to draw a penalty. -

He just had an awesome chance to tie it and couldn't elevate to put the puck in. Oh how we saw that too often in last year's playoffs. -
