If Jimmy simply gets nominated for the Calder it'll be quite an accomplishment. Especially since he'll join the company of Yzerman, Lidstrom and Zetterberg ( stupid Jackman) as far as recent Red Wings go.

I really hope Max Nicastro will make it. Probably another 7 years though before that would happen. He really should've made the USA WJC team from what I heard. Him and Lashoff seem like they could eventually be a Brad Stuart-type of defenseman.

Pavel Datsyuk ASSETS: Plays a very patient game with the puck. Sets up his linemates with aplomb and scores highlight-reel goals. Also possesses outstanding defensive instincts and face-off skills. FLAWS: Could use more bulk on his 5-11 frame to better handle physical defenders. Is a little inconsistent in the goal-scoring department. Doesn't always play with enough emotion. CAREER POTENTIAL: Elite two-way forward. Yeah sometimes he looks a little off. Sometimes he can get away with it. This year I guess he can't.

Nick Lidstrom has 2 goals, 12 assists and is +10 in his past 15 games. He's starting to catch on.

Yeah I'm not so sure about that either. He's going to have to really rack up the points, get some more individual awards and lead the Wings to a championship after Lidstrom retires. Also, at this rate it looks like he'll never win a Selke, which is quite a shame kind of like how he lost out on the Calder. Thought not nearly as big of shame as that one.

Anybody remember Pavel's comments from last year when he pulled his curl and drag move on Josh Harding? The reporter asked him, "You got a name for that move yet?" Pavel says, "Name?" "Yes, name." "...Goal." Also, the YT comments keep talking about how it wasn't that impressive because it's already been done by Linus Omark. While it's true that the move has been done before, I don't think anyone has been able to pull that off at the NHL level. That makes it pretty impressive. Maybe not as impressive as the first one but it's still impressive.

That comes with Detroit being successful for so long. Hawks fans, Pens fans, etc., haven't had anything to cheer about until recently and with every re-growth period of the fan base comes bandwagon idiot fans. Some become educated, some don't.
