If so that would explain why Z gets a different song than the usual "Heeey Hockeytown!" they play for pretty much every wing that scores. Except Datsyuk who I hope still gets the Kalinka song. Cleary gets the "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone." Except that it's played after the hockeytown song. Same goes for Abby as he gets the "On the banks of red cedar... is a school that's know to all..."

I always go by how teammates refer to each other. Never the announcers. Gary Thorne and Bill Clement would too often call Lidstrom, "Nicky Lidstrom." No need for the flair when it comes to Lidstrom. "Nick" is great enough.

True. I remember this one foreign player who gave an interview about adjusting to a NA style. Definitely. It's frustrating for us to watch and it's frustrating for them to deal with the culture shock here. I'm sure Ritola used to feel the exact same way. He just isn't as outspoken as Dick. Fortunately for Dick he's there to be an advocate for sticking with it.

Ritola has been all over the ice so far. He'd be in the deepest position in the O-zone and yet he'd be the first forward back defensively. Really hope he makes it. Noticed something that I thought was kind of odd. They played Logan Pyett on the 5-on-3 PK. I've noticed Kindl a little too much, all for reasons not so good. I haven't noticed Kolosov all that much. Probably a good thing.
