He's apparently 5'10 and 169. If he gets a little bigger and stronger and some seasoning with the NA game then he's a WAY more preferable option than Lebda and Meech right now, especially with his proclaimed hockey sense and smarts. At this point it looks like his max upside is a borderline top-four defenseman, but to theoretically have a guy like that on your third pair has got to be really good.

Yeah I've heard comparisons from PJ Axelsson to Dan Cleary. I would imagine that whenever Joakim Andersson gets to DET that he would be a great center to go with Ritola. Those two along with someone with some skilled sandpaper and you have a shut down line that can chip in some offense; a line with some real potential.

Haha, that's a good way to think of them. Even though both Fil and Leino are at least one inch taller than Pav and Z. If those two can have even a little mini magic that Pav and Z have then this year is going to be a lot of fun to watch in terms of those two.

Franzen is awesome for his clutch ways but I just don't ever want to see him try to act tough. It is embarrassing. Getzlaf, a player who is like 8 or 7 years younger, had to tell him to get the F up off the ice and stop acting like a wuss. Not the best way to get the affection of Red Wings fans.

Pretty soon we should see LeftWinger go to town on this one. There's already Hudler and Howard but I'm sure he's got one more. Willy is always a fun choice.
