In the first game of Kipper's 2nd full season the Wings got six goals on him. (At least I think they were all on him). I wonder what SJ fans were thinking of him then and how different it is now.

One of these days you'll be dead on right. Only from what I remember, the last time a score like that happened a certain goalie got traded to a certain city where people ski and then proceeded to beat the Wings for a cup. Oh and yeah, TeeMan is awesome. Although I kind of feel like that should be your sig, haha.

Yeah it's only the pre-season but the whole point of it all was to see who was willing to put themselves out there to stand out in the minds of the brass. I remember last year Franzen had a couple great games and Helm was playing like a mad man. Sure he had to spend most of the year in GR but it still made quite an impression on management. It wasn't all for nothing. So to hear that no one is really playing all that well is rightfully disappointing.

Bert and Cleary get along pretty well. Z and Cleary get along well. If Bert can be like the 1B playmaker on that line so that Zetterberg is happy to get his goals then that line could very well supercede the Datsyuk line. Then again, that is a big IF in regards to Bert.

Definitely Datsyuk. Definitely not Zetterberg. His first game as a Red Wing was on the top line with Sergei and Shanny. From what I remember Z was dubbed as the next Forsberg and then the next Yzerman and now he's just Z.

It's all happening so fast for him. The last prospect I remember that had around this much hype around him was Zetterberg. Maybe a little too fast.

Right I know but I was more concerned about the skill level as far as his case goes. There's no one else they can get that can provide his impact? Preferable someone they won't have to pay as much? Or is this all just a political war as in the KHL takes any player they can get as long as they take them away from the NHL?
